thawab··on Gemini API File Search is now multimodal
Tried multiple times to use the api file search and it’s complex to setup. Ended up going a different approach.
thawab··on Google plans to invest up to $40B in Anthropic
You might be miss remembering, the last round they raised 30b.
thawab··on CC-Canary: Detect early signs of regressions in Claude Code
I am on the same boat, started to build my extensions and preferences in PI. The community is awesome and helpful. My assumption is the personalization has higher priority than the intelligence gap between opus and gpt or others. At least i wont stop working if claude is down.
thawab··on Show HN: Prompt-to-Excalidraw demo with Gemma 4 E2B in the browser (3.1GB)
You can copy past the mermaid to excalidraw to visualize it.
thawab··on GLM-5.1: Towards Long-Horizon Tasks
Don’t want to disappoint you, but above 200k opus memory is like a gold fish. You need to be below 150k to get good research and implementation.
thawab··on How we rebuilt Next.js with AI in one week
Nextjs had remote code execution vulnerabilities because of how they implemented react server side. I am not touching an AI version without waiting for a while.
thawab··on Show HN: BrowserOS – "Claude Cowork" in the browser
Thanks a lot, i wanted to ask about the headless agent use case: How does it compare to using https://github.com/vercel-labs/agent-browser
thawab··on 'Western Qwen': IBM Wows with Granite 4 LLM Launch and Hybrid Mamba/Transformer
After getting burned by Watson. I am not touching any AI from IBM.
thawab··on Benchmarking GPT-5 on 400 real-world code reviews
How can o4-mini be at 57, and sonnet-4 is at 39? This is way off, o4-mini is not even in the top 5 of coding agents.
thawab··on MiniMax-M1 open-weight, large-scale hybrid-attention reasoning model
Does facebook use llamas in their model? it's a name, it doesn't have to be 100% true to its meaning.
thawab··on Show HN: A “Course” as an MCP Server
There are several videos in the link that does this.
thawab··on Show HN: A “Course” as an MCP Server
Start course. It’s an mcp, talk to it like an instructor.
thawab··on Cerebras achieves 2,500T/s on Llama 4 Maverick (400B)
are the Llama 4 issues fixed? what is it good at? coding is out of the window after the updated R1.
thawab··on Show HN: Airweave – Let agents search any app
Yes, a lot MCP servers are just api wrappers. Airweave looks like it copies the data and has a RAG that is processing your queries.
thawab··on Show HN: Hydra (YC W22) – Serverless Analytics on Postgres
thanks a lot, the other part of the question:

1- what data is shared with hydra for this case?

2- whats the pricing for the bare metal deployment?

thawab··on Show HN: Hydra (YC W22) – Serverless Analytics on Postgres
Hello Joe, thanks a lot for hydra and pg_duckdb. I wanted to confirm that for self hosting hydra i have to generate a token from your platform? what data is shared with hydra for this case. We need to double check as our data has restriction of sharing.

> Visit http://platform.hydra.so/token to fetch the access token and paste it into the section above.

thawab··on Roo or Cline? We're building a superset
for my daily work i use aider, but i jump into roo and client when there is an update, or someone has an interesting workflow. it's like taking a test drive.
thawab··on Google Is Winning on Every AI Front
I hope this will help:

https://www.reddit.com/r/RooCode/comments/1jn372q/roocode_vs...

thawab··on Google is winning on every AI front
Your issue is because:

1- the cursor agent doesn’t work with gemini. Some times the diff edit even doesn’t work.

2- Cursor does semantic search to lower the token they sent to models.

The big advantage for Gemini is the context window, use it with aider, clien or roo code.

thawab··on The Llama 4 herd
Who has above 700M MAU and doesn't have their own LLM?
thawab··on Microsoft blocks VSCode-derived editors (like Cursor) from using MS extensions
Rough? They just closed a $600 million round with a 10 billion valuation. They should expect bigger challenges after getting in the unicorn club.
thawab··on MacBook Air M4
16 GB RAM included in base model. For $200 more i can bump it to 24 GB RAM, So that i can open Chrome and firefox at the same time.
thawab··on HippoRAG: Neurobiologically Inspired Long-Term Memory for LLMs (2024)
This was released on 23 May 2024, and the source code is on github[0]. It didn't pickup traction like other RAG approaches. I haven't tested it so i don't have an opinion on it.

thawab··on Evaluating Code Embedding Models
Hello Frank, thanks a lot for the awesome work. I like continue a lot and they have an amazing team. I keep checking their repo, once in a while to see when they will release their ai agent.
thawab··on Evaluating Code Embedding Models
The work by voyage team are admirable. If you want to test it, the only editor is continue, add it as an embeddings provider:

"embeddingsProviders": {

  "provider": "openai",

    "model": "voyage-code-3",

    "apiBase": "https://api.voyageai.com/v1/",

    "apiKey": ""
  },
Aider, clien and roo code does not use embedding. Cursor and windsurf has their own setup.
thawab··on Autoflow, a Graph RAG based and conversational knowledge base tool
Thanks a lot, this is the first time i saw a RAG using DSPy. I wanted to know about the expected cost. A few days ago fast graphrag compared their implementation with Microsoft:

> Using The Wizard of Oz, fast-graphrag costs $0.08 vs. graphrag $0.48 — a 6x costs saving that further improves with data size and number of insertions.

thawab··on Pentagon fails 7th audit in a row but says progress made
Based on DJT first term, my guesses are:

- Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

- State Department

- Science and Public Health Offices

- Civil Rights Offices

DOGE doesn't have to do something new or significant, all they have to do is to promote it better even if it's the same actions by any republican reaching office.

thawab··on Pentagon fails 7th audit in a row but says progress made
Pentagon has 23k employees, DOGE need more than 4 years for something like this. My assumptions is that they will focus elsewhere for quick wins.
thawab··on Show HN: BemiDB – Postgres read replica optimized for analytics
Why are you painting Clickhouse as an underdog, with no VC funding? They raised a $250M Series B.
