tbugrara··on Iranian campaign planted fake articles in real U.S. publications using ChatGPT
Well considering the USA pumps out the largest amount and widest reach of propaganda on the earth, and has for decades, I'd argue it makes more sense to incorporate all the propaganda - omitting any only strengthens/biases the ones included.

That said, your focus on Russia specifically just smells like red scare paranoia, one of many successful psyops from the USA.

tbugrara··on I quit OpenAI because its culture is broken
To me it has nothing to do with the "sex" as much as the "cult." Hiveminds do not produce intellectual arguments, they produce pressure to conform. That's enough for me to raise an eye brow, not discredit everything they say.
tbugrara··on Show HN: Giving Opus 5.5 a simulated paint canvas
"Most everything that the human brain can do is simulated by LLMs to decent accuracy."

Already false. LLM's are tricking you into recognizing it as human, but it is so far from human if you'd only understand what does and does not make you human.

tbugrara··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
Show me one law that has its justification/purpose explicitly encoded in the law itself.
tbugrara··on U.S. appeals court upholds designation of Anthropic as supply chain risk
Laws are only half the picture. Enforcement is an additional aspect. And yes it is extremely prone to corruption.
tbugrara··on Pentagon says overreliance on AI contributed to missile strike on Iran school
And how do you know these things aren't edge case exceptions in Palestine?
tbugrara··on Iran school bombing: grounds to believe US was behind atrocity, UN finds
You individually are powerless. It's the American people, not you, that can shut down the industrial military complex. That means talking to people - this is genuinely the only thing I can think of to do.
tbugrara··on The contagion of fear
1. breaking out of a poorly built sandbox to find the answers to a benchmark 2. ??? 3. imminent extinction

You skipped a lot of steps. Might I suggest you RTFA?

tbugrara··on DeepSeek v4.1 Flash
Right, but you can say that about literally anything can't you? We have to put our energy into leads. Where's the lead that model welfare matters?
tbugrara··on California lawmakers unanimously pass Linux exemption from age-verification law
I'm confused. Parental controls for internet use have been around for decades.
tbugrara··on Semaglutide linked to lower predicted dementia risk
This isn't true, fatty liver can improve very quickly. Where are you getting "15 years" from?
tbugrara··on Zed DeltaDB
FYI: I've had success with changing the file_scan_inclusions setting which forces the file watcher to rescan all projects. Doesn't work consistently unfortunately, but easier than restarting.
tbugrara··on U.S. used 'virtually all' of its long-range precision missiles during Iran war
You're not considering how our economy/manufacturiing is currently not oriented for war but could easily be made to be.
tbugrara··on Big Food vs. the People
Considering we have 0 visibility into how their decisions are made and by whom, I think it's naive to claim that an organization's publicly stated "mission" is the only incentive that organization acts on. I don't know anything about DWB, but what determines if an organization has an agenda is the leadership, not their marketing.
tbugrara··on Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5
I'm not fan of this administration to say the least but assuming they are incompetent is dangerous. Assume they're actually 10-head and ask yourself, what would explain their behavior?

For example, you make an astute observation corroborated by the duration of the ban. Aligning a model is the biggest challenge of these companies, it's unlikely they were able to make a giant leap in alignment capabilities in about a month. You know what is easy to do in a month? Establishing the foundation for digital identity and surveillance.

The government just forced (heavily incentivized) these companies to invest in classifiers and monitoring in a way they haven't needed before. All of this new infrastructure can be used outside the context of the people using language models.

tbugrara··on The KIDS Act would require age checks to get online
Because willingly throwing away your safety from the government and the oligarchs for a tale as old as time, "think of the kids", is irrational to say the least.
tbugrara··on The war on terror primed America for autocracy
Nothing you're claiming seems worthy of being flagged, sounds more like you're personally bothered by the content of those comments.
tbugrara··on The worthlessness of Vitamin D is mildly exaggerated
Mind sharing what "higher powered follow on" studies (not even sure what this means) showed less interesting results for omega3 supplementation?
tbugrara··on Pentagon raised threat of Israeli spying on U.S. to highest level, sources say
Yet AIPAC does not need to register.
tbugrara··on United Wizards of the Coast
I think you underestimate the anti-union propaganda of the last century. Any working class individual against unions parrot the same surface-level talking points predicated on their own limited understanding of labor. In a way they are bots; the alive variety.
tbugrara··on IDF killed Gaza aid workers at point blank range in 2025 massacre: Report
You're absolutely right, only 95% of health services were crippled. Thanks, that changes the meaning of GP entirely.
tbugrara··on I Am An AI Hater
AI democratizes knowledge better than wikipedia ever could. It makes knowledge accessible to those who can't find good teachers (a good teacher is ridiculously rare). It makes knowledge accessible to those who've been let down by our capitalist society.

I don't care that you hate it. It's the best thing to happen to us in a long time and anyone who disagrees does so on a mountain of privilege. I'm happy for you to have learned everything you know, but to desire to take it away from everyone else is abhorrent to me.

tbugrara··on IDF officers ordered to fire at unarmed crowds near Gaza food distribution sites
dang I cannot respect you enough. Thank you. I have strong feelings about Palestine and learned quite long ago how powerless my rhetoric is. Although I believe I see the truth, it's clear the world needs yet more time. The only thing that must be done now is to facilitate discourse and to leave the flow of information unimpeded. Time will humble us all.
tbugrara··on DOGE engineer's credentials found in past public leaks from info-stealer malware
This perspective is ripe for being manipulated. Use critical thinking and learn to sit with uncertainty.
tbugrara··on RFK Jr. rejects cornerstone of health science: Germ theory
Indeed. I wonder who profits the most from vilifying RFK. ;)
tbugrara··on CDC data are disappearing
Consider your own ignorance. It is impossible to be certain of anything because of unknown unknowns. You merely assume they are lying, but you could never prove that.

A righteous condemnation with no proof and all feelings is exactly the soil the grows facism.

tbugrara··on "Frost crack" sounds may come from sky, not trees
Point 4 seems to have been made by you, not the article.
tbugrara··on Epic Games is laying off 16% of its staff
Unity is currently redesigning their engine from the ground up using an ECS architecture. They're calling it DOTS or Entities.
tbugrara··on Texas death row inmate at mercy of supreme court, and junk science
For the love of god, read the damn article before commenting.
tbugrara··on Ask HN: How do ADHD people cope on here?
I don't see any issues with what you've described. If I were you I'd challenge the interpretation that not reading every single thing you find interesting is a bad thing.

The fact is there will always be too much for anyone to do. It might help to think about the issue you're having like how you think about FOMO.
