tbitrust··on Biologists discover four new octopus species
Imagine human beings farmed for food by an alien civilisation that has "debates" on whether it's ethical or not to eat homo-sapiens.

They have centuries and centuries to settle the question while rearing and killing billions of human beings each year.

N.B. The price of baby meat is higher because it's more tender or whatever.

Why did you lose trust in Mozilla? What other browser would you recommend instead?

tbitrust··on 41 Years in UX: A Career Retrospective
I don't think that people "far removed from tech" are "sub-90 IQ" (a "delicate" euphemism for "stupid").

And I don't think that people on facebook, youtube or tick tock are "sub-90 IQ".

Thanks for making clear that it's what was implied by the original commenter.

That's lack of empathy coupled with sheer, crass ignorance.

tbitrust··on Addressing Changes to PfSense Plus Home+Lab
We often confuse Free and Open Source with "free beer". We have been using pfsense for years without paying a dime; if we could we would gladly have done it. It's simple fairness.

Could you point to this evidence? And how do you know that that is what kept him from returning to his country?
tbitrust··on The moral behavior of ethics professors: A replication-extension (2018)
Purely anecdotal, but I choose not to read the literature on the ethics of animal exploitation because I was still eating meat. But I decided to take the plunge, and now I cannot go back to eating meat.
