taybin··on Twitter Confirms New Google Firehose Deal
Ugh. I avoid twitter like the plague already. Luckily it'll be easy to ignore in the results.
taybin··on The torus is the product of two circles, cubically
Cool. Now multiply a circle with a pyramid. Yes, a 3D pyramid.
taybin··on What it’s like living in the coldest town on Earth
The ground is frozen solid.
taybin··on GitHub's “hub” tool rewritten in Golang
Isn't it more lines of code now?
taybin··on What can I only do in Erlang?
He learned prolog at the lab?
taybin··on The Hypercard Legacy
I completely agree. Natural Language style programming with AppleScript is incredibly difficult. I don't think hypertalk was that much better.
taybin··on Assembly for XML
They don't really do jokes here...
taybin··on Y U NO commit??
Because it's funny. Don't be a grumpy programmer.

taybin··on Devices being remotely wiped in police custody
"The hard drive is constantly looking for GSM [Global System for Mobile Communications] signals, if it is starved of them it it would destroy itself. It would see such a bag as a threat," said James Little, head of sales at SecureDrives"

Don't take your laptop on the subway!

taybin··on We Got Accepted into Techstars and Turned Them Down
It sounds like they don't really care about that. And good for them.
taybin··on GitHub.com momentarily blacklisted in Russia
also "Turn Yourself Into Hydrogen Bomb" and "Nanomachines"
taybin··on Ask HN: Who's working making the world a better place?
Not against. Just neutral.
taybin··on I Had a Stroke at 33
This was on buzzfeed?? Crazy. Didn't think those soul-less bottom-feeders would turn to quality long-form essays.
taybin··on A Long, Ugly Year of Depression That’s Finally Fading
I think the idea that after a business failure someone needs 'redemption' is harmful. Sometimes businesses fail and the person doesn't try to start another business, and that's okay.
taybin··on Elixir v1.0.0 released
Actually, it compiles to Core Erlang, which compiles to BEAM bytecode.

Core Erlang is pretty unreadable though, so I do think it's a bit more complex than CoffeeScript.

taybin··on How serious is the California drought? Before and after pictures
Oh, you're right. They must not be having a drought then.
taybin··on The sad devolution of Discovery Channel
Remember when MTV used to play videos?
taybin··on Show HN: Stressed and burned out, so I created my first app – Remember Win
Aren't you curious as to why?
taybin··on Hotel fines $500 for every bad review posted online
Yelp is useless anyways.

The short-sightedness of the current crop of the upper class is a problem.

taybin··on An open letter on feminism in tech
That it has nothing to do with nazism is exactly what invokes Godwin's Law.
taybin··on An open letter on feminism in tech
It doesn't make her gender/orientation/race look worse. I've been critical of the article, but you're being ridiculous trying to blame a group for her comment and deletion. In fact, I suspect you already don't like those groups and this is just some confirmation bias on your part.
taybin··on An open letter on feminism in tech
I wasn't aware of that context. Generally, I'm not a fan of not linking to pieces you're criticizing.
taybin··on An open letter on feminism in tech
Well, burst my bubble and call me Slim.
taybin··on An open letter on feminism in tech
Terrorized though? I'm not sure that being critical of some blog posts rises to that level.
taybin··on An open letter on feminism in tech
Compare that with http://jacobian.org/writing/what-can-men-do/ , which is linked to in the OP in which he criticizes Jeff Atwood for doing it wrong. So wrong that he won't even link to him, even though he acknowledges that his intentions are good.

Edited to fix pronoun.

taybin··on Cue, the home lab for quantified self
Spoiler alert: they can't.
