taubek··on Microsoft is killing WordPad in Windows
I open DOCX files, and it is listed here http://hs.windows.microsoft.com/hhweb/content/m-en-us/p-6.2/...

Not sure if it is some update or what.

taubek··on Microsoft is killing WordPad in Windows
This is a shame. I still use is to open RTF and DOCX files.
taubek··on Ask HN: Why hasn't the cloud killed the mainframe?
I would says "vendor lock-in or even legacy code". It seems to me that the systems that use mainframes have business continuity and stability as main goal. If it works there is not sense in migration. I think that for systems that use mainframes money is not the issue and on top of that migration costs would be huge.
taubek··on Ask HN: Did quitting tech lead to a good or bad outcome for you?
How about going into something education related? Not necessarily to go to work in school or at university but to teach/coach someone.

taubek··on Working from home could wipe $800B from office values globally
In my hometown I've seen mall that was converted to hotel. Could parts of the office buildings be converted to living spaces? One tower is for work, next one for living. It could cut down commute times for some. I've never lived in a big city so I don't know what would be the life in such buildings. Are there other things near by that you need, like schools, shops, pharmacies, cinemas, parks, etc.

taubek··on Moderation strike: what is going on between the moderators and Stack Overflow
I get it. You love to share the knowledge, help along the way and learn new things. I've never thought about SO on that way.

taubek··on Moderation strike: what is going on between the moderators and Stack Overflow
I hope that SO will accept your demands. You are doing a heavy lifting for them.
taubek··on South Koreans become 1 or 2y younger as country changes system for counting ages
Does this mean a lot of code updates will be done in near future?
taubek··on Ask HN: Does anybody not use an adblocker?
I use two browsers. In one I have adblocker. In another one I don't use it.

I use it on the browser from where I browse YouTube, news portals, etc. On the browser that I use 99% for work I don't use it since I want to see (yes, strange I know) ads in my Twitter feed or work related portals that I visit. This way I support those portals (at least I hope that they get paid for showing me ads).

taubek··on Ask HN: Why Discord instead of a public forum?
If you don't have your own infrastructure or knowledge to deploy Discourse there are some costs related to it. As far as I know there is no free tier when it comes to Discourse. [1]

I've never looked at AMP at that way, as cleaner version of the web site.
taubek··on Ask HN: Are AMP pages a good or bad thing?
I don't know what is the cost of keeping AMP running. I guess that there is no cost once it is up and running. It makes sense what you say.

Sure, no problem. I don't have a use case where I could test your app so this kind of feedback is all that I can do :)
taubek··on Show HN: I turned my email automation tool into a full-fledged email platform
Thanks! I might be good to write some content (blog posts) about those different categories and which existing solution could be replaced with your tool.

You do have something covered at https://www.useplunk.com/use-cases but a lot more could be added.
