tariandbari··on Gaza: Coding in a conflict zone
I don't know if the OP of this thread is part of the antizionism camp. I can only assert that he is an idiot (He looks at the map and cannot see the long border that is shared between Gaza and Egypt)

BUT antisemitism == antizionism as it simply design to strip Jews from their own homeland. Antizionism is not part of a global anti nationality movement that says "Let's abolish the 57 Islamic countries, the 21 Arab countries and this one Jewish state" its one and only goal is to deny from the Jews what many other have.

You can criticize Israel as much as you want. But what people so often do is to apply different morals to Israel and other countries. And that's is pure antisemitism.

It takes some real unique ability to look at Gaza's map and missing the fact that it has a very long border with ... Egypt. So even if Gaza is an "open air prison" there is more than one guard to it.
tariandbari··on Exa, a modern replacement for ls
To the author: As you are already making a much more user and human friendly version of ls (like making ls -h the default behavior) please consider placing the name of the file on the left most column

inode Permissions Links Size Blocks User Group Date Modified Name
21214836 .rw-r--r-- 1 9.4Ki 24 ben staff 29 Jun 16:16 Cargo.lock

As a human I first care for the name, Currently I'm forced to scan the right most column (which position varies) and then travel back to the beginning of the line and read the rest of the metadata

The discussion is about whatever people are fully capable to hate and murder each other without Western involvement or not. This is a simple yes and no question and in light of that I'll ridicule anything that even remotely suggest otherwise.

So let me see if I can understand, the Syrian people started rally against the regime not because they are fully grown men and women capable of making their own decision, and they really wanted to have a better life. But because it was someone from Washington DC who wanted to ... (I don't know what exactly he wanted, but he surely wanted something)

Take Syria for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civil_uprising_phase_of_the_Sy...

Both NATO and the US had nothing to do with the situation there. In-fact Obama administration made considerable effort not to get involve:

"As countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom debated their response to the attacks, they encountered significant popular and legislative resistance to military intervention"

People around the world hated each other long before the west, and they continue to do so long after the west left. Now all there is people from the west that consider other people as irresponsible children that cannot make their own choice

Nothing like the times when Britain ruled over India.
tariandbari··on Why I Choose Delphi
It is still for personal use, but I really hope that by the end of the summer I'll have something ready for public consumption
tariandbari··on Why I Choose Delphi
I worked with both OP (ObjectPascal) and Go, and Go really catches much of the spirit of OP. BUT Delphi is an IDE that was designed specially for making out most of ObjectPacasl (and ObjectPascal has extensions to interface back with the IDE) nothing in Go Ecosystem comes close to that
tariandbari··on Why I Choose Delphi
I've not used Delphi/Pascal seriously for over a decade... and then a month ago, after being fed up with sublime/VScode/atom as my daily drivers for developing python I decided to write my own editor. So I installed Lazarus and within 12 hours I had a working editor which is so much FASTER than [put your JS based editor here]
