You read wrong. tvladek did not say Buecheler implied anything, only that being correct about one thing does not imply being correct about another.
And if you advertised for a slave you would presumably be dealing with the owner of said slave, so if you were offering a reasonable price, then no that would not be an exploitative offer.
Khoo's job posting offers value and leaves it up to the applicant to decide if that is inline with their requirements. For some it will be a dream job. For others it will not.
Slaves do not choose to be slaves, that is part of the definition of the term. The introduction of hyperbole and apples to oranges comparisons does not further conversation.
The explanation of "every step of the build" is pretty limited too.
I, for example, moved out of my parents' house at 18, but I wouldn't say I became an 'adult' until at least my early 30's. Even now I feel like a kid most of the time, in spite of my many responsibilities - even with a kid of my own!
I don't think we ever finish maturing, and I think we never stop learning, even though our 'peak' mental ability may come and go.
I disagree. There is a wealth of biological evidence to show that a human's brain doesn't finish maturing until (approx.) age 25. By that standard you could make the argument that 25 is when people reach adulthood.
Of course, what we're really talking about here is expectations of responsibility, so even though "by 15 or 16 people should already be expected to act like adults" these young people still have maturing to do.
It's not surprising that in our rich modern society the age of 'adulthood' has risen to 25, especially considering we live so much longer than we used to.
The site looks really nice, and appears to have really great content. Signup achieved.
Anyway, if you're face-to-face with someone they still tracked both of your positions to/from the meeting and used cameras in the area to run facial recognition. Then they transcribed the convo to text by hijacking area mics or using the cameras for speech recognition.
If you're really important they'll land a tiny UAV on your person and literally 'bug' you. Better to just stay inside and keep your waste in mason jars...

This isn't something that needs to be researched, it just needs to get done. Put something together and push it out, gain domain knowledge, refactor, repeat. Experience will be your guide and most of what you read during 'research' won't relate anyway, but you won't realize this until you have the experience. That's assuming the research phase doesn't paralyze you with options and statistics and metrics. You don't need a comprehensive prospectus, just change one thing. Then change another when you feel like it or it makes sense to do so.
I could expand on this if anyone is interested. I actually wrote a lot more here but decided it was probably irritating and chopped a bunch off.
Best of luck to you, sir! I hope it's fulfilling, but never to the point of satisfaction! :)
EDIT: Seriously, though. It occurs to me that I'm being a smart ass around a terrible situation (even if there is truth in what I said). I hope all is well with you and yours. If I was religious I would pray for you!
You see? Cynical.
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master—that's all."
Nothing to see here.
Side note: This guy [0] owes us a video!!
Edit: Didn't want anything to melt.
Smart glass is done and has been for a long time. See Transitions Lenses or Speedglas welding masks. I realize it's cost-prohibitive to scale, but there's also SAGE windows, which use liquid crystal to block light.
I'm not sure what qualifies as an EL panel, but LED panels have gotten crazy bright and cheap and are being used more and more.
I count the conveyors in airports as 'moving sidewalks'. :)
I agree Moon colonization was a fail, but to be fair we could colonize the moon, but why would we want to?
