Thank you kindly for the trip down memory lane, that's how I remember it all too! That's what I started from - dBase III, Clipper, and then FoxPro, and always thought it was some sort on niche products. Nowadays I don't even mention these names on my resume...

I don't understand your answer, sorry...

What language do you use nowadays, if I may ask?

Do you know by any chance - Is this feature available only in US, or for the Canadian customers too?

I am not an astrophysicist or photographer for that matter... But wouldn't it be like a overexposed photo -- all red-and-white, because it will catch so much light from the distant galaxies and such?

There some file name conventions in place in Go [1]. Files ending in *_test.go are going to be run dufing `go test ` invocation, but not compiled during production build run. In general, last parts of file name reflect "tags", or a platform that this file should be built for. So, in the case of *_linux.go file will only be compiled when it targeted linux platform. Allows to have a file say file_windows_amd64.go and file_linux.go that have functions with same signature, but only one will be picked up for a target platform. Sort of like #ifdef , but at file-name level.

There is a way to specify what file is actually targeting inside the file, through //go: "pragmas" too

$1-2 per month would be worth it for me. But $10 per month just for search - no, it is not, sorry.

> Between this an the technology behind mRNA vaccines, I really wonder if the 21st century will lead to the effective elimination of many diseases.

And, due to errors and human mistakes, possible creation of some new, or old-but-improved ones...

What platform are you on, sorry? On android my keyboard takes care of it. On windows - spell check is also enabled in the input box area.

Somehow I only see M1 mentioned... EDIT: you have to look at US site to see the announcement.

Problem is to switch people around you to use something else. Second company, second fight Java vs Go, and I am loosing again... Makes me wonder if all my efforts to learn something new are for nothing, for no real benefit.

From a first glance, Odin looks like a nice language to use! Looks like they have fixed ocd-causing idiosyncrasies of Go - "for value, index" and not the other way around, "defer" belongs to surrounding scope, and not the whole function.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Thank you, Western and Westwood got mixed up in my head.

Thank you, it was Westwood indeed! My memory have failed me, again.

Western... Didn't they own the first or second "Dune" game?

Sorry, what are Go's "streams"? Thank you!

To think of it - we are a food for fungi too!

Yeah... Problem is they control supply as well. I would agree with the conclusion only if I would fly business destinations only. As it stands right now, I have to buy tickets to Mexico 6-8 months in advance, with no right to cancel them, even if life has other plans all of a sudden.

We don't know resources behind this project. But even if they substantial, still - they have to start small. It will come, give it time.

I think the fact that after a long while there are new search engines (Kagi was introduced very recently on HN, now this) should be a wake up call for Google - their search has lost some shine for quite a while. Hopefully something will come out of this - competition is good.

a bit meta: it is actually kind of funny how their questions are actually quite fitting into the discussions going here...

This point is so often overlooked (and from the personal experience - it applies to me too)

Well, "civil war" is when society is divided into camps and these camps fight each other, or side with an external force. So, IMHO, "war" is still a fitting abstraction - the question is which side you are taking - people's or virus's.

They still advertise it on their own website https://on.google.com/hub/?main=retail , so they expect it to be still selling.

Oh Google... People do not care when it was introduced - people care for support from the time when the last one got sold!

/me falls from the chair.

Thank you for such a time-saving extension! I got much more time to read while it was doing what it was doing, instead of endless "right-click, save as" sequences.

How good?

Thank you for such extended answer. I do have HDMI on it, so I guess it will have to wait until next hardware refresh cycle.
