taken11··on Startup School 2011 Live Stream
you can do WebM and/or Ogg Theora live streaming with Flumotion, Icecast, GStreamer. This just works in the video tag in Firefox, Chrome and Opera. It does not work in Safari and IOS since Apple refuses to support those formats.

thats totally wrong. you can do WebM live streaming that works in Firefox, Chrome and Opera. Ogg Theora with Icecast also works in Firefox, Chrome, Opera
taken11··on Why bitcoin will rise in price again, but it will take years

taken11··on I take it back. Unity is cool.
Sadly, it still does not work with 2 monitors. i.e. attaching a projector for a presentation, all your windows get moved to the projector. can be quite a problem if you are in a meeting. in addition external monitor can only be to the right, since the dash is fixed on the left.

If you want to drag something inside an application to the left side, the dash shows up and blocks the left side of the application. no way to move the dash.

Just two major bugs in terms of usability. ignored for a long time.

taken11··on 5 Skype alternatives for Linux users
the only thing that is interesting about Skype is that it is cross platform. Having single platform alternatives just does not work.
taken11··on Microsoft to acquire Skype
the browser plugin is platform independent, or is there a cross platform client that supports audio/video reliably?
taken11··on Microsoft to acquire Skype
its only not happening because there is no better cross platform client. all competitors so far offer less or have more constraints, if skype is not the best offering anymore people will switch.
