What microphone are you using?

I love the queuing graphics! Nice work on that.
t_crayford··on Test driven development at Transloadit
Full-stack tests will have a combinatorial explosion in the number of tests you have to write to get decent coverage, wheras isolated unit tests have a linear (with some constants) increase.

Also full stack acceptance tests take ages to run (by definition they will be doing some complex computation). As mentioned above, if their test suite runs in under 5s, it gives a huge advantage. Imagine having light on your computer that goes red any time you make a mistake. They effectively have that.

t_crayford··on MongoDB's lead developer: Foursquare outage post mortem
I'm wondering if the decision to shard based on users was taken with data (ie, at that point did each user have a roughly similar number of check-ins); if not, hashing by that seems kind of fail for that kind of app.

I'm interested in doing a talk/show on my clojure refactoring mode (for emacs). Is the speaker list already finalized?

But no options outside the US :(
t_crayford··on Ioke - strongly typed, dynamic, homoiconic, prototype-based JVM language
Ioke has lots of mutable state (rather than Clojure's strict lockdown on mutable state). Ioke isn't concerned at all with concurrency (which Clojure is).

They both have macros, and ioke's syntax looks nicer to non-lispers than clojure's. Ioke (iirc) is considerably slower than clojure, and kinda difficult to optimize.
