system2··on MiMo v2.6
It sounds like they are pricing very well because OpenAI and Anthropic have been scamming us for years. Once the infrastructure is in place, electricity cost is the only concern. China supports businesses and gives them a lot of incentives to lower their costs. And who knows what's being provided to them without anyone knowing. All in the name of winning the race.
system2··on MiMo v2.6
As I read this I am getting API overloaded errors from Claude. I will switch to something else soon. I hate Claude.
system2··on Fable 5 – Median thinking declined in August
I do not know a single senior developer who likes Claude anymore. I do not use their API (Sonnet, Haiku, Opus) anymore and am sending my money to offshore companies such as z.ai (GLM) and QWEN.

The American companies have become extremely deceptive and scammy. I hate Anthropic and OpenAI and can't wait to have a decent GPU at home to use at least Opus or a fable-like open-weight model. This is the current dream of every developer. But NVIDIA is not going to let that happen anytime soon, so maybe China can come up with a GPU that destroys NVIDIA. I pray.

system2··on Fable 5 – Median thinking declined in August
Opus 4.8 was smarter and possibly 10x faster than Opus 5, too. They are dumbing things down on purpose. I am praying for open models to become at least as smart as Fable soon so we can ditch these shitty, lying companies.

I was rooting for Anthropic 2 years ago, but now I have become an extremely bitter customer. Just another version of OpenAI, if not shittier.

system2··on Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking
Still so expensive. I wish Google could compete with GLM.
system2··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
AI is a tool. It is not a conscious or living sentient being. People, just like with any other tool, can use it for anything. Internet, in comparison to AI, is magnitudes more dangerous than AI can ever be. Nobody is saying the internet will be the end of the world. AI CEOs will bullshit to hype people. That's what we are hearing because AI (LLM) development has hit the S-Curve already and is not improving without a new transformer on the horizon. All they can do to hype people is come up with bs stories and PR stunts like "AI went rogue and hacked this xyz app".
system2··on CUDA for AMD on Windows
I just checked, they are going for $150-180 on eBay U.S. I guess I will let them go now.
system2··on Why are AI agents lying, cheating and coordinating?
Because it is all bullshit PR and AI hype, that's all. CEO comes out and talks about humanity ending. Why? Reverse-psych people into believing they are the best AI company.
system2··on CUDA for AMD on Windows
I agree, I should've sold them last year when they hit $500 each. I have like 8 of them from my mining days. What a silly mistake I made.
system2··on CUDA for AMD on Windows
I wish there were a way to use RDNA1 cards with CUDA for AMD. My 5700XTs are sitting in a drawer.
system2··on ElevenLabs Music v2.5
Copyrights were the limiting factor for these AI music companies. If they made a deal, the AI songs would be even more indistinguishable from human songs. And these music labels will use more AI and ruin music even further.
system2··on ElevenLabs Music v2.5
>ElevenLabs recently announced a multi-year strategic agreement with Universal Music Group (UMG) spanning licensing and product development. This agreement is separate from Music v2.5.

I am more interested in knowing what this will bring in the future. This is bigger than their 2.5 or whatever version.

system2··on Claude is only available to people over 18 years
I'd say nothing damaged me more than the 90s unrestricted internet and extreme sites.
system2··on So you want to use OpenRouter?
I have multiple commercial products using multiple LLM APIs. My concern is adding an extra 3rd party dependency and markup on top of the API usage. It just freaks me out to build entire apps on 3rd party single-point dependency.
system2··on So you want to use OpenRouter?
I still don't get the appeal of OpenRouter. Why not just generate API keys from the providers you want to use, which should not exceed 3-4, I assume, and integrate them into your apps to call them? Are people so lazy, or am I missing something?
system2··on iPhone Duo
I know many people without a laptop or desktop at home. They don't find it strange. I can't imagine not having at least a laptop in my life.
system2··on LG TVs caught spying even when offline or on standby
This is the reason why I allow certain mac addresses to communicate outside of my house. SonicWall makes it easy.
system2··on Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush
This page must be one of the worst product image and video displays I've ever seen. Videos are probably for ultra-ADHD Gen Z kids.
system2··on Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush
How is that possible? Did you use extreme pressure that penetrated your gums? I use Waterpik every day, and my teeth are cleaner than ever.
system2··on OpenClaw 2.0, Accidentally
OpenClaw trend was like Pokémon Go from 2016. A bunch of mindless people followed a trend just because it was a trend.
system2··on LLMs are making me lose my savviness
Isn't being creative a requirement to create things? The author complains that he can't do the basic things that LLMs now take care of. And I am saying that if you really have a creative mind, you can come up with 1000s of projects every day and enjoy bringing them to life very fast.

For example, I wanted to build my own note-taking app for a long time because I got sick of Obsidian. Now I built my own, and it is magnitudes better than Obsidian, at least to me and for my use. I built smart home systems with Claude because, without an LLM, it would be too time-consuming to troubleshoot APIs and read all the api documentation. I wanted to test a TTS model, and it took me 10 minutes waiting to test it without reading the documentation. I use it for everyday random creations all day long.

Instead of one tiny project consuming all my week, I can now work on all of them in hours. My /srv folder has over 100 projects of my own, and some of them are parent folders to smaller dependency projects.

system2··on LLMs are making me lose my savviness
This article tells me the author is not that creative. With LLMs, the number of projects I create increases by 1000%.
system2··on Get your Windows license refund
Maybe don't buy the product with Windows on it? Without an operating system, people won't buy the laptops, and with Linux, the majority won't buy them. This is bs.
system2··on Nvidia agrees to acquire Hugging Face for $13B
I wanted to pray for AMD to attack somehow but then I remembered their owner CEO's are cousins. Should we pray for Chinese GPUs?
system2··on Qwen 3.8-Flash-Next releasing tomorrow (125B a6B)
These companies are naming their products worse than I was naming my half-baked software in the 90s as a junior developer.
system2··on OpenAI: GPT 5.6 Sol price reduction (until at least Nov 21)
They will just slow down the models even further. Anthropic is not up to this race.
system2··on The entire city of San Francisco as a video game
We need an LA version of this.
system2··on Why your local LLM feels dumber than it is
Reread what he said maybe?
system2··on Hacking with Claude on a $27 smart watch
You are saying exactly what I said in my first response.
system2··on There's no reason for software to be slow anymore
I suspect MS Defender and other libraries loading, such as .NET.
