Unfortunately, they just started diluting that moniker with the GR Rav4.

sudokatsu··on Iceland votes on whether to restart talks on joining EU
I think the majority of “you Americans” that you’re talking about aren’t on HN. The Americans actually on this platform probably have the same concerns you do.
sudokatsu··on Why some US restaurants are banning tips
The places you’ve mentioned are cheaper diners (which I also enjoy) where most people don’t explore the menu and portions are plentiful. Hardly somewhere you’re getting dessert or coffee _after_ a meal.

Any stats to back up that the _typical_ driver is uninsured?

Ah yes, can’t wait to sue Google on equal monetary and political footing. It will be very easy, and very fair. /s

We don’t tolerate machine incidents because who is liable if an accident occurs? A company with a $4.6 trillion market cap? They’re not a legal opponent any of us really want to take on.

Nah unc is kinda charming, boomer often had a derisive connotation.
sudokatsu··on The Commodore Callback 8020 smart flip phone
I’m surprised they’re able to offer the Dimensity 8300 at that price point. Curious to see how much RAM it comes with.
sudokatsu··on The Commodore Callback 8020 smart flip phone
Waiting for delivery of my Unihertz Titan 2 Elite. Hopefully it’s good overall, but I’m just excited to have a physical keyboard again.

A bonus is that it has some features for interacting with modern interfaces, like touch sensitive scrolling by swiping along the keyboard.

sudokatsu··on Apple WWDC 2026
We shouldn’t give them praise for gatekeeping it behind a paywall.
sudokatsu··on Apple WWDC 2026
Well, let’s wait a bit before giving it such an honorable name lol

sudokatsu··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (March 2026)
Statphone is such a genius idea - very cool.
sudokatsu··on New iron nanomaterial wipes out cancer cells without harming healthy tissue
Thats how I read it as well. The deeper issue is that he shouldn’t even be able to contact them when they deemed her lucid enough to not be eligible just a day earlier, especially when they were keen enough to notice he was burned out.

Separately, why do these services have to move so quickly? It seems like it’s either glacially slow in other countries where people pass before even finishing the paperwork, or insanely fast like in this case. There really should be a balance.

sudokatsu··on Mozilla appoints new CEO Anthony Enzor-Demeo
This is the craziest example of “if I can’t see it, it [might not] exist” I have ever witnessed.
sudokatsu··on Framework Laptop 16
Still my favorite laptop of all time. Wish I could buy a new one with modern internals.
sudokatsu··on Pixel 10 Phones
Really wish they would at least make the Fold a reasonable size when closed. It would scratch my smaller phone itch, and offer a larger screen when I actually do want one. Currently it’s “comically oversized” when folded, and literal tablet when open.
sudokatsu··on Face it: you're a crazy person
Took your advice, no regrets.
