subleq··on France sells bonds at negative interest rate
How is this possible? Wouldn't you just hold on to cash instead of buying bonds at a negative rate?
subleq··on A file that's both an acceptable HTML page and a JPEG (view source on it)
Yes, certain versions of IE can be tricked into executing javascript in images: http://www.h-online.com/security/features/Risky-MIME-sniffin...
subleq··on Announcing SPDY draft 2 implementation in nginx
It was much easier to get this working than I thought it would be! Does anyone know when this will be part of an official release?
subleq··on Automatically avoiding mixed-content warnings when using SSL
This is rather misleading. It 'fixes' the warning, but still leaves open the security vulnerability you were warned about. You are left vulnerable to someone intercepting your [server's] connection to `example.com` and inserting something nasty.
subleq··on Divisibility by 7 is a Walk on a Graph - how does it work?
On HN: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1859007

I also found a solution on stackoverflow: http://codegolf.stackexchange.com/questions/3503/hard-code-g...

subleq··on How To Count A Billion Objects Using Only 1.5KB Of Memory [Probabilistically]
If you're allowed to make multiple passes over your set, you might as apply an in-place comparison sort and get it down to O(n*log n) time with constant space. Their method has the advantage that the stream doesn't need to be stored -- events can be processed as they come in and then discarded, never storing the entire set.
subleq··on Creating memorable and secure passwords
I wrote a tool for this, mouseware: http://www.fusionbox.com/mouseware/

It generates a memorable password using entropy from your mouse movements to seed a CSPRNG. It is completely in-browser, no data is ever sent to the server.

subleq··on RSA public exponent size
An RSA public key is made of of two parts -- a 'modulus' and an 'exponent'. The modulus is the part you're thinking about -- very large, computed from your private key, hard to factor, etc. He is talking about the exponent part, which can indeed be very small (and the same everywhere event).
subleq··on Rails 4.0: PATCH will replace PUT as the primary HTTP method for updates
How is a write-back cache possible in an HTTP proxy? I understand write-through caching for PUT requests (The proxy doesn't have to repeat future identical PUTs because PUT is idempotent), but how does the proxy know what the response to the original PUT request is unless it performs the request against the origin server immediately?

Edit: I just noticed that RFC 2616 mandates write-through behavior: http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec13.html#sec13...

subleq··on Should All Web Traffic Be Encrypted?
Yep, I've tested it down to IE6.
subleq··on A Textbook Buffer Overflow: A Look at the FreeBSD telnetd Code
memcpy's third argument is the maximum (additionally, the exact) number of bytes it will copy.
subleq··on Apple owns every IP address that starts with 17. (17.0.0.0 - 17.255.255.255)
Many companies involved in the early internet have entire /8 subnets: http://www.iana.org/assignments/ipv4-address-space/ipv4-addr...
subleq··on There's a (Vim Plugin) For That Part 1: Fuzzy Finder
Why do you want to ditch Command-T? I've been satisfied with it. The one thing I do wish it had was ctags searching.
subleq··on How Ruby is beating Python in the battle for the Soul of System Administration
The condition will always evaluate to False, a lower-case string can't be in a string that has been .uppper()ed. popen(...).lower() will work.
subleq··on Advanced tricks with vim registers
Why can't you use tabs over ssh? `gt`, `gT`, and `<n>gt` cycle forward through tabs, backwards, and go to the `n`th tab.
subleq··on Chocolat - the new editor
Are there any other modal editors besides vim?
