stumpyfr··on Show HN: Type.com – codex and Claude Code in the cloud for non-tech use cases
displaying the website for a few seconds, then crashing with this error. Mac, Edge (152.0.4191.62)
stumpyfr··on Show HN: Type.com – codex and Claude Code in the cloud for non-tech use cases
Edge: Something went wrong Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'catch')
stumpyfr··on Proposed spec to share SKILL and "loop"/"Workflow" by OCI registry
Sharing skills is always messy, auth, audit, versioning, ...

Some people were already thinking about leveraging OCI registries to do that; I extended the idea with a notion of "workflow/loop" to structure the concept of Loop Engineering.

Everything is versioned and has dependencies.

A user can install, with a single command, the complete collection of skills and workflows their team uses, and it's versioned!

Glad to take a review and feedback; a first implementation started and is showing great result/usage.

stumpyfr··on Show HN: Reassign – a 24-hour dial for planning your day
yep it would be interesting. Sadly, it will not replace Outlook/Gmail calendars, but maybe with an integration?
stumpyfr··on Show HN: Reassign – a 24-hour dial for planning your day
Interesting UX, simple and at the same time, feeling so "new/fresh" !
stumpyfr··on Mixing the new GitHub agent workflow and Jira MCP to accelerate PR review
I played with this new feature today and create a simple but effective usage for my day 2 day reviews
stumpyfr··on How do I make $10k (What are you guys doing?)
Step 0: Stop aiming for 10k, aim for enough to live (for now).

Then decide between option1 or 2.

Option 1: Start by taking a "random IT integrator/service job" to keep your flat and food on the table, stop even thinking about building and "vibing" something. Just take a job, large "consulting" companies are easy to join as entry-level and will give you enough to survive, but far from your 10k dream.

Stabilise your finances, take time to refine your ideas and plan the next step without the stress to not knowing if you will be homeless or hungry next month.

Option 2: Play the local lottery and tomorrow, GOTO option 1

stumpyfr··on After a Year of Building, I'm Stuck Wondering If It's Worth It
Congrats, 1y on the same side-project (it is one I understood correctly) is already an achievement.

Task management is complicated and very different based on the person/context (Startup vs large org).

I know both universes well, and while reading your first page, I found "Only one task "in-progress" per user for focused productivity." -> I stopped here. As engineer and manager of engineers I don't have one task in mind, I have hundreds, found me a way to visualise and make sense of all that and you would have my interest, not looking for another toggle-like app.

Second feedback: sorry, but I have the same issue; design is key. Based on the home page and lack of screenshots, I am fairly confident that you are a developer and not a hybrid unicorn able to create complete professional software without some help on the design/UX front.

stumpyfr··on Chatbot Recommending Poisonous Recipes
Can you provide examples? if you ask explicitly some toxic ingredients and stuff.... yeah I doubt we can consider the "AI" to be in direct fault.

If a kid asks "how do I bake cookies for my family" and the AI proposes to add some cyanide into the mix... yeah we have an issue.

stumpyfr··on Google's DJIA financial graph color change
Still red, no change, no conspiracy.
stumpyfr··on Green Software Development Manifesto
Awesome and happy to support/create the link if needed (I am a board member of this foundation).
stumpyfr··on Green Software Development Manifesto
Why not joining efforts? https://greensoftware.foundation/

Only way to improve the situation is to have large impact/visibility.

stumpyfr··on Ask HN: How do I stop being exploited by my company?
leave them for another company of the same type/market, with potential relocation and decent salary for your skills.

Congrats, you skillset is awesome and super valuable!

stumpyfr··on What Is Sustainability Competence?
Dogma are "bad" if not challenged, correct. Can we adapt/change these programs along the flow, to adapt to the new situations and knowledge? I am confident we can.

Now, what are you proposing to really change the mindset of the world population around climate change and the fact we are running into the wall?

the other option is the current one, we do close to nothing and we wait. Not convinced about this strategy to prepare a better future for the planet and the next generations.

stumpyfr··on What Is Sustainability Competence?
Comparing trying to help our little planet to the Hitlerjugend? One of the fastest Godwin points!
stumpyfr··on Ask HN: Why are Covid-19 death rates low in US
USA is starting to do a lot of tests. Same for Germany.

So virtually keeping the death rate low.

Other countries are testing only people already sick with a lot of symptoms (==hospitalized). If we were testing "everyone", dead rate would be lower in Italy,...,...

stumpyfr··on I built a product to automatically create apps from your database
In summary: fancy CRUD scaffolding?

You should put more in the front the real values of your product (and maybe the limits too).

I am with office 365 for my startup but I dont understand what you really want to know about that?
stumpyfr··on Ask HN: Pivot from 'data science' to X?
Your skills are really needed on the market, maybe try to do some consulting? Still around your knowledges but will allow you to explore many different stuff!
stumpyfr··on [dead]

stumpyfr··on The next big data scandel? Real Time Credit Rating for companies
Really? scores like that exist since...the beginning of the bank industry :). and this one is very old, check the system requirements: http://www.d-basics.com/en-us/program/systemrequirements.asp...

I am currently working on big data cluster...a little bit more expensive!

stumpyfr··on Hadoop on IBM Mainframe, what do you think?
Many large compagnies (bank, telecom...) are still based on mainframe and z/os. They want to move on Big Data technologies like Hadoop but not easy because a major IT gap.

IBM try to help with that move, many not the best solution because it's more Hadoop on Z/linux and not Z/os but still a interesting move from IBM to stay on the race.

stumpyfr··on Open-source 3D city platform ViziCities released on GitHub
