But tools come and go my friend
Do you mean contemporary tech startups? As you may know, startups are businesses after all and the rules governing their operations are the same. When your business runs out of cash , you need someone to throw you a lifeline (debt or equity), or sell some assets to raise money or unfortunately file for bankruptcy and let nature take its course and creditors to recoup some of their investments.
I can't understand WikiLeaks anymore. They seem now like teenage trolls with infantile attitude and manners.
Slack gotta make switching costs in terms of inconvenience at least bit high for them to jump ship otherwise they'd face a very unpleasant outcome should a new hot player/product hits the market
These Stasi guys don't take anything that may jeopardize the reign of their paymasters lightly
Coz it's working here on my desktop and I have Ad Block installed on the machine
Do you really believe that the motive behind this charity is 100% altruistic?
Oh man, I gotta an ocean front house in Arizona to sell ya!
Joking aside, these people publishing and releasing these frameworks to the public at min looking for reciprocal treatment in terms of improvements to their product made by the community and the general adoption of it by wide segments of the community making it easier for them to recruit and integrate new team members with minimal costs in training and sunken costs.
So, this symbiotic relationship between us devs and these corporations is neither altruistic nor patrimonialistic
Anybody who wants can use it, anybody who doesn't please don't let the door hit them on their way out.
I guess that you might know that we devs don't have the final say on all of this. Clients or employers dictate in one way or another the way to go with front end web dev. If it were for me and I guess many devs, we'd just settle for one or two frameworks max. and just ignore the rest and their existence.
It's tough market out there dude!
You should be one of these clueless HR managers (( 10+ years of jQuery Experience ))
- Hello, jQuery wasn't around 10 years ago ...
But seriously and with all due respect when will these people realize that the market for JS frameworks is INSANELY saturated and released products are ASTONISHINGLY optimized that there's no need for the time being to push yet another framework and torture us devs with the task to master it out of the fear of being left behind and feeling irrelevant skills-wise?

So, are you shooting for a subsistence income level for ALL humans?
I don't know why we should work for 60 hrs/w with no OT compensation to feed the planet when the 1% of Earth's population are hoarding over 35% of global wealth if not more.
Maybe you should talk to them and convince them to give some of that wealth back to the poor so they don't starve to death?
Upon hearing this, The IRS is drooling all over the place.
Is it safe to say that male members outnumber their female counterparts?
If so, what's the reason or the catalyst behind this disparity in interest and participation rate between sexes?
I'm cautiously optimistic about the Spartan project and I wish them all the best but if the new boss would be like the old boss, that would be the last nail in Microsoft's coffin when it comes to the web standards.
What's this supposed to mean? Is this some sort of reverse sexism? Reparation in kind for the gentle sex?
But in my case it didn't work out even though I had a separate room in the house set up for this specific task. I had to abandon this arrangement as my productivity and social life suffered and went out looking for a small office to rent and set up accordingly.
I have also tried some coworking spaces but I felt there was something missing and I was not getting the full deal of this approach.
I guess also I'm very conditioned to the usual morning rituals to prepare for the day from washing up, having breakfast, dressing and leaving the house to work. I could not really escape this routine and it took a toll on me till I moved to my cozy office and started to see a markedly increase in my productivity and social life well being.
So, at the end of the day it boils down to personal preferences and what suits and suits not an individual.
However, I'd definitely vote for and favor a more balanced approach that combines both remote work from a dedicated office that has been set up specifically to handle this type of activity that is independent and detached from the home environment, and the formal workplace to maintain the bond and harmony between team members.
