I'm an ancient software developer time traveller. Working as a remote contactor building apps that use AI to do stuff, also a game developer.

Only $5K when you saved them millions. Pretty cheap!
starkeeper··on There are no "rogue" AI agents
I agree and Sam Altman and the others lie about it. They let the agents do it and no doubt were watching with popcorn the whole time.

starkeeper··on DuckDuckGo search saw 28% more visits after Google said people love AI mode
Go Go DUck Maaan.

Even if the backend is bing, they have somehow made it work. It's is a weird bonus for Microsoft.... If they don't try to copy google they can finally get some search market share!

LOL.

Hopefully this will inspire new teams to create indexed based search alternatives that are free and not enshitified, like google used to be in the early 2010s.

starkeeper··on YouTube to automatically label AI-generated videos
Too bad they are not including the script writing, some people pass on the visual but you can tell in 10 seconds or less it was written by AI - or an AI voice that is reading AI written slop.

I would not mind either one if it was quality. But it's NOT this, it's sloppy that!

starkeeper··on Big tech's anti-labor playbook has come for Wikipedia
I personally never truste Jimmy Wales. Oh I didn't realize he is behind the "Fandom" sewer too.
starkeeper··on Search engines alternatives now that Google isn't Google anymore
It is pretty sad that google has embraced enshitification for search results for what more than 10 years of decline now? And then this.

DuckDuckGo is about to surge!

starkeeper··on Trump Mobile exposed customers' personal data
Hey it's no biggie they are exempt from all rules, norms, and principals. Their customers love it even more when rules are broken so this is more like a bonus for them.
starkeeper··on GitHub is investigating unauthorized access to their internal repositories
this is so amazing and brilliant display of the enshitification wow they won't fire the right people gauranteed maybe a slightly smaller ``bonus``
starkeeper··on Google changes its search box
barf but it at least opens up the playing field for new startups that want to provide good old index search and try to beat them where they left off when search still worked 8 years ago before they hired the yahoo POS execs that enshitified the service.
starkeeper··on My Thoughts on Bun's Rust Rewrite
Oh thanks woops I have not been following closely enough. Still it's an AI written whine! :)
starkeeper··on My Thoughts on Bun's Rust Rewrite
And even this fact is irrelevant since this is a developer branch experiment and people are only guessing and making assumptions. It's more my language is beader bravado bullshit.

starkeeper··on VS Code inserting 'Co-Authored-by Copilot' into commits regardless of usage
They do not care about customers because they are the customer and users are hostages. They only care about hostage count and other shitty metrics.

starkeeper··on Meta to start capturing employee mouse movements, keystrokes for AI training
Normalizing this shit is more evil than anything too. Really classy overlords strikes again.
starkeeper··on Meta to start capturing employee mouse movements, keystrokes for AI training
I'm so excited to interview for a career at Meta!

Also, why are the investors not suing the legs off of Zuck for the whole meta verse debacle? It is a scam and pure fraud. Also dumb name, sue for that too. Should have just renamed it meeme.

starkeeper··on Deezer says 44% of songs uploaded to its platform daily are AI-generated
On a similar note I recently deleted a whole bunch of automated tests because if the AI is going to write most of the code then I should test it to make sure it's good! This won't work for all projects, but for my indie games it's a good idea.
