ssapkota··on Ask HN: How to fund Free Software Development
When you reach certain level on development, funds might also come in from bigger industry. But its tough to get funds upfront no matter what the source is. May be you can look into what light table did - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ibdknox/light-table
ssapkota··on Ask HN: How to fund Free Software Development
Donation and enterprise level support is what comes to my mind. Also depending upon what you are developing, running a training program could bring in some extra cash.
ssapkota··on Ask HN: Why is AWS so popular despite being impossibly complex?
Best analogy is knife vs swiss knife. AWS has a great toolset and comes handy when it comes to scaling, at the same time it seems complex if you don't know how to use it.

ssapkota··on Animated Bézier Curves
Thank you. This gives a beautiful understanding of Bézier curves.

One request: Please add pause/resume in the animation. I could just pause at any given time, and go through the state of all points. I hope it would help anyone to understand it much easily.

> Spam has collectively taken billions of hours of users' time to deal with, consumed countless terabytes of wasted disk space, burned bandwidth better spent on kitten videos, and used up vast quantities of developer time to come up with new ways to filter it out or come up with other technological fixes

After reading this I felt that Spam had made really horrible impact than that I used to think.

ssapkota··on Which geek are you? [Photo,Humor]

ssapkota··on Brain is like a 1680000 MHz Pentium computer with 100 million MB of memory
It quite interesting to see how the author relates the computer processing power with human brain. Also shows how far and how fast we have advanced in machine computation.
ssapkota··on A second is a long time
It's a fabulous troubleshooting effort made by the admins - "we saw we would frequently burst the 1 Mbit per millisecond rate of the so called 1 Gbit/s interfaces"
ssapkota··on [dead]
But the banner-picture on the homepage says "western room-mate finder".
