srparish··on All about 64-bit programming in one place
Adobe
srparish··on Quicksort is the new Hello World
Not only is it making two-passes for filtering, it also has to do another pass to append "lesser" onto [p] and "greater". And that is for a single recursion so these multiple passes are happening per-recursive call.

Here's a page with some actual haskell quicksorts:

Apple has been doing this stuff for years. I bought a macbook pro two years ago and the dvd drive started failing withing the first 6 months. I took it into their store and got a run around and no replacement. There were third party forums with a lot of complaints, but most of the posts on Apple's support site disappeared pretty quickly.

srparish··on MongoDB: A first look
It seems that a lot of its users are the former LAMP crowd. I've been using it as a distributed file server for configuration type files. Works great. The APIs are really simple and feel native to the language and it has all the basic datatypes you'd want for configuration.
srparish··on A new type of phishing attack. Works on savvy users.
One would hope this will cause banks and the like to rethink disabling having the browser's password manager enter your password. On sites where the browser normally automatically fills in my password i'd immediately be suspicious if i got a screen without my credentials already filled in. My banks, however, always require me to fill in the fields so i wouldn't be any the wise.

My bet though is they won't become so wise and will instead just rely on displaying my private image and phrase on the login screen.
