sriramgopalan··on Who cleans up after the vibe-coding party?
Vibecoding for anything beyond prototypes is a bad idea. Software engineering principles still matter. Good software that is maintainable and has quality in functional, non-functional, and operational axes still matters.

I wrote about this a few weeks ago in my blog. As an industry, we need to move past vibecoding and into rightcoding.

sriramgopalan··on Are readers generating fiction with AI models?
This is interesting. We have seen the internet change many fields and democratize them. For instance, only a few media outlets produced news stories and analysis, the rest of us consumed it. Blogging changed that.

Only a few studios produced shows. With Youtube etc., many of the consumers could become producers themselves.

If I read this correctly, books and fiction are headed in the same direction.

sriramgopalan··on Fable 5 will default to Opus 4.8 for coding tasks
How can it be legal to charge a higher fee for the Fable model, if most of the usage will default to a cheaper model behind the scenes?

It is one thing if I, as the user, choose to down-level but Claude shouldn't do this on its own.

sriramgopalan··on Solid and Clean Code never felt solid or clean to me
I am sorry but nothing in the article clearly lays out how solid/clean code doesn't feel solid or clean. It seems to be a criticism of a specific person. What am I missing?
