srehnborg··on Ask HN: What are the best tactics to drive inbound leads to your site?
I'd be happy to kick some ideas around in a email thread. Email = my hacker news username@gmail.com
srehnborg··on Ask HN: What are the best tactics to drive inbound leads to your site?
What type of company?
srehnborg··on Becoming an expert 30+
I think one advantage that you bring to the table in the expertise field is you have much more experience that you can leverage than a younger person. While you might not be a true expert in that one field, having a more exposure from years of experience gives you the ability to bring other knowledge to the table and apply it to your expert field.
srehnborg··on Amazon stops selling Sim City V over game issues
I am waiting to see what comes of this before I buy. However, They had overloaded server issues during the 1 hour beta AND the extended 4 hour beta leading up to the launch.

Hoping they can get this resolved quickly. I think we're dreaming if the fix will involve a non-DRM offline mode.

srehnborg··on Ask HN: Which large companies don't have name badges?
Is this really that much of a deal breaker?
srehnborg··on Starting a Bike Shop
These are not your Huffy brand bikes you buy at Walmart for $100 a bike.

They cost $500-$1000, but you get a high quality product that will last a long time. The ROI makes a lot of sense in the long term. Unless you are the type of person that has to buy a new bike every 2 years because it's shiny.

srehnborg··on TweetPing: See real-time tweets on world map
This is awesome.
srehnborg··on Ask HN: How do I cut down on my cell phone bill?
When is your contract up? Check out Republic Wireless - www.republicwireless.com for a cheaper option.

It's $19 a month for unlimited data/talk/text. Runs over wi-fi when you're around wi-fi or cell towers when you're not. That will save you quite a bit per month.

srehnborg··on Ask HN: Tech Down South?
Actually, here is another good link of when Techcrunch toured Atlanta, Raleigh/Durham, Savannah, and Greenville, SC.

srehnborg··on Ask HN: Tech Down South?
What kind of work are you looking for?

You mentioned that you were looking for a Vibrant / growing tech community. I think you need to check out both Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina.

Both are really great areas to live, work, and play. They offer great communities with lots of small and growing companies. Both places are up and coming as well, so you have the ability to shape it's future in a bigger way than somewhere already established.

srehnborg··on The Hustler's MBA
I lost focus after he talked about how easy poker was to make $85k a year.
srehnborg··on For Students, By Students: First Round Capital Dorm Room Fund in Philly
Hope to see this expand to other campuses.
srehnborg··on Automated Insights Generates Several Million Fantasy Sports Articles
This is awesome because the most fun I have in fantasy leagues is the interaction with the people I am playing against. So this just takes it to a next level and provides a recap like the normal NFL games.

Good to see a Durham, NC company get some love.

srehnborg··on Can'tada - Tracking the stuff you can't use in Canada
If these products are not available in Canada, sounds like a great opportunity to bring something similar to that market.
srehnborg··on 40% of U.S. food wasted
I'd hate to see what the figure is for buffet's only
srehnborg··on Inside FundersClub (YC S12) The Equity Crowdfunding Platform
Any idea on when non-accredited investors can join?
srehnborg··on Show HN: My weekend project using the Soundcloud API
Awesome! Have my background music for the day!
srehnborg··on How Can A Free Conference Call Be Free?
AT&T and Google Voice had a dispute over this a few years ago because AT&T must terminate all calls and GV was blocking calls to the freeconferencecall.com numbers.

srehnborg··on Google misspellings stats for "britney spears"
Really? - 2 grittney spears
srehnborg··on Your own version of the Barbara Streisand song
This is pretty sweet, however I don't think most people know the original song. It's a big hit for dance/electronic fans.

srehnborg··on Sell your used textbooks for beer
I've seen Keystone Light sold in bottle form at Ohio University bars.
srehnborg··on Hong Kong gets 1 Gbps broadband service for $26 a month
OC-12 is a lot cheaper than you think. It's in the range of $5-15K a month depending on the location and carrier.

srehnborg··on Merchants Can Now Run Their Own Deals On Groupon
My only guess is that they have so many merchants waiting in the queue that this is an avenue for these merchants to get their deal out.

The only problem is that for the people buying the groupons. I only try to limit myself to 1 a week since that it all that I can afford right now. If more groupons are available, I probably wouldn't buy more unless it was a killer deal.

srehnborg··on Merchants Can Now Run Their Own Deals On Groupon
If I remember the story correctly, if the cafe didn't go lower than 50% on the deal itself, then Groupon would take 100% of the money it generated.

Edit:I found the link.

http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=443354298928&id...

When the customer pays less than $10, Groupon takes 100%.
