spywhere··on Show HN: Automatically set real iOS alarms for calendar events
I have done exactly this through Shortcuts. Basically, if I want to skip the alarm for a specific date, I just create an all-day event on Calendar and the automation takes in every midnights to check for these events and disabled the alarm. And also, do the reverse on the opposite.

Hmm... I believe Shortcuts could be leverage to do the same? The only thing I'm not sure of is whether Shortcuts can pull the event time and use that to set the timer.

Edited: Just checked, seem possible.

spywhere··on Show HN: tmux.nvim – turning Neovim into a terminal multiplexer
> is this really more effective or smoother in terms of workflow than just using standalone neovim and tmux? No, but this would help fill in the gap that tmux lack for some use cases. So, it would all depends on what are looking for from it.

With (neo)vim as terminal multiplexer, you would have a totally different ecosystem where you can integrate various plugins to it. Like tmux has TPM, (neo)vim would have vim-plug (or many more plugin managers) to help integrate another plugins and tailor to your setup.

> Are there any advantages to this? Is that the type of people this project is aimed at? Short answer: No, quite the opposite as of its current state.

Long answer: Even though I'm also using (neo)vim inside a tmux, there are a few caveats that I need from tmux.

The main one is while tmux is pretty much available everywhere, it's doesn't support Windows. My work machine (as provided by the company) are running on Windows and a lack of terminal multiplexer which prevented me to have the unified development environment across multiple setups from my MacBook to my Raspberry PI Zero.

Also, with one binary, you would hit 2 birds with one stone. Given that you're not doing anything fancy beside basic terminal multiplexing.

spywhere··on Show HN: A cross-platform, modular dotfiles installer for my personal setup
This is my personal dotfiles installer.

It was started as a simple script that run `brew bundle` on `Brewfile` to install packages on MacOS. And over time, it evolved into grep + xargs on custom comments to support installation through Aptitude / APK / etc. as my usage vary across multiple OSes.

I find myself constantly either in need of reinstalling the whole OS or setup my environment a lot. Especially on my Raspberry Pi, since I love my portable development platform in which combined iPad Pro and Raspberry Pi. Hence I need to make the setup flexible and with various options to better reduce the time I spent manually install stuffs.

Do note that some functionalities might not be implemented (should be in the Issues section as of now). But the essentials core functionalities for my day to day work are pretty much stable. There is only current version that I'm using and working on at all time, with some branches to try out some ideas. So please be sure to poke around before running anything, as by default it would just simply perform the installation with no confirmation.

Please, feel free to give some feedbacks or take something from it if you find it useful. Much appreciated.

spywhere··on Show HN: We open sourced our new Mac developer setup script
It definitely been working on for quite some time. I start working on it as a simple setup with just `Brewfile` for brew bundle, then adding custom comments to run grep + xargs to pipe to Aptitude / APK / package manager to install the same package for different platforms.

I find myself constantly either in need of reinstalling the whole OS or setup my environment a lot, hence I need to make the setup flexible and various options to better reduce the time I spent manually install stuffs.

spywhere··on Show HN: We open sourced our new Mac developer setup script
I did the same with my dotfiles setup, but it's for my personal preferences.

Moreover, I think I have more options to skip particular part / packages while also try to be idempotent as much as it can.

spywhere··on Ask HN: What are some tools / libraries you built yourself?
I wrote my own game engine that support an adaptive music system (some called dynamic music system), built using OpenGL (by SDL2), OpenAL, Physics powered by Box2D.

Pretty old projects, built during my years in the university. But also one of the proudest projects I achieved.
