spravtek··on WordPress in the Cloud
So it's basically the same as setting up an EC2 node in AWS with WP? Which 'can be' free. Though I guess this service will be easier for people who not have the know-how or not want to bother for doing it themselves?
spravtek··on Feedback wanted on Zabibu: the perosnal cloud assistant.
It's looking interesting from when you start sinking with Youtube etc. Before that I thought it was just another Evernote clone. I'd like to see more examples like that.
spravtek··on Can you suggest a web analytics service for an online business?
Hello, what kind of analysis are you looking for? Here we're using http://keynote.com/ ... We're very satisfied with it but it might not suite your needs?

spravtek··on CACR: MacDefender shows Apple users no longer immune from cyberattacks
Immune ... Ha! Apple computers where never immune. The attacks were just not as common, and still aren't, compared to Windows computers.
spravtek··on Self hosting decision
There's many options for hosting, you could run a virtual machine running a web server, you could use Amazon web services (they have a free instance for 1 year, enough for testing) ... If you really want to host yourself, the virtual machine might be an interesting option. You can download a ready made instance (eg. Bitnami instances) and use VMware player to run it) ... If that's too complicated you can find much easier solutions where everything is readily configured but mostly they cost you money.
spravtek··on Are you concerned about viruses/trojans on your Mac?
I approach this 'question' differently for myself, it's not so much that I worry about Trojans/malware for my Mac, I know they exist though, it's more like I don't want to be the 'weak' link in the chain. Let's say I pick up some kind of Trojan/malware/virus for a Windows PC, unbeknown to me I send it to someone who uses only Windows PC's, that makes me the bad person because I was thinking I don't need an anti-virus protection ... I'm working with a Mac no? Why do I need any protection? ... I know the other person needs anti-virus protection too, but in case he/she doesn't, I'm not liable, I did what I could to protect my PC/Mac.

So, yeah ... I use a detector, not only for the small(er) chance I get a Mac Trojan/Malware ... But also to protect anybody I do business with ... Well more to protect anybody in general.

Extra benefit, it keeps my system clean(ish) of tracking cookies and other privacy invading nasties.
