Then why allow `any`? Using TS without the compiler and linter configs tuned to your benefit is like trying to use a plane only as a car. No discipline required if you let yourself fly with settings that set you up for long term success later.
Also, Flow is not on the same level as TS. It's a dead project and was never fully baked.
That'd be awesome - I'd appreciate learning from something like that, and I really appreciate Typescript
A helpful way I've heard this described is "high raw" Also I think it may be easier to maintain long-term, which maybe you'd agree. In any case I'll always be vegan, no matter how much raw or cooked food I eat. Too many "raw vegans" I've seen revert to eating carcasses.
> The color blue makes me feel sad
Downvoted! I love the color blue.
Edit: and now I'm being downvoted for this observation. Maybe Alanis Morissette would say this is ironic
Hey cool, I'm vegan too! I agree, supplementing B12 and eating nuts and seeds is way nicer (morally and taste) than eating bugs.
> Given that we can buy tropical fruit (yay for mango) by the box, and have knives, I'd say it has never been easier.
That's a good way to look at it and I agree. However in my own experience, it is still a lot of work. I live in the tropics where it's easy to buy a huge box of papayas, mangos, etc. I did this for about 3 months, eating only raw food and mostly only fruit, and some greens and soaked seeds. My body felt very strong and refreshed, but I spent a lot of time preparing and even buying food to keep it in stock and fresh. I slowly went back to more cooked foods like rice and lentils. It doesn't feel as good, but it's a compromise of time at this point.
I agree, and it's incredible how much vitrol I've seen in response to this biological and physiological fact.
Here is an example source

Being unvaccinated is not immunocompromised. They're almost orthogonal and indeed someone can be both vaccinated and immunocompromised (and actually immunocompromised from vaccine injury).
> It's not just an internet phenomenon; the originator was Andrew Wakefield
Maybe in recent times? But there seems to have been people against vaccination since its origin.
It's just one data point, but worth looking into further.
When you're treated better the lighter/whiter you are, then it makes sense why people would argue about it
> So I've been looking into microservices communicating with a persistent message broker like Kafka and what I'm still not sure about is the frotnend - that is, I know that the FE will communicate over https with an API gateway service (so REST or GraphQL) but if the FE needs a resource, how should the API gateway handle the request back to the browser? The only pattern I've seen so far is to issue a 201 CREATED for e.g. creating a user. Have you come across any other patterns for this?
Why do you hate working from home? I hate working in an office and will never do it again.
> and don't want to have to rent a separate office space on my own dime.
Also, most companies will (and should) pay for remote workers to have an office outside of their house, if that's what they need. That's been my experience for the past 5 years anyways.
> your complaints are with shitty offices, not something inherent to onsite vs. remote work.
For myself and many others I've read accounts from, it's so much more than a 'real office'. It means no commute, no office drama, being able to talk with my wife in person during the day, make my own lunch... For people passionate about remote, it's more than a specialized office, but a whole different way of working.
