spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What was your biggest startup fail?
Did you pivot your business model after this realization, or did you continue to compete on price?
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What was your biggest startup fail?
How did you realize they were a bad fit?
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What are the tools to learn that could be useful for a lifetime?
Typing is a super useful skill. I picked it up in 9th grade and it's been a lifesaver ever since.
spikey_sanju··on Do quests, not goals
Just read it. This is interesting. Definitely, we will be trying this on our team. Thanks!
spikey_sanju··on Show HN: I built an app that gives you Reddit TL;DRs instantly
Happy to answer any questions! I'm especially curious to hear how Glance might help with your specific Reddit browsing habits.
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Did you lose your passion?
I still enjoy coding and design. But there's a fine line between passion and making a living. I used to build side projects for fun and learning, but once responsibilities grew, I had to prioritize making money.

I realized that passion requires financial support, so I drew a line between what I love and what I need. Now, I dedicate weekends to hobby projects and weekdays to work-related tasks.

spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Share your VSCode layouts, tips, and hacks
I use “Advance New File“ extension to create files quickly with shortcuts. It's a lifesaver for nested folders.
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Is there any software you only made for your own use but nobody else?
I created https://uiino.com (painless planning for your app with AI).

As a product studio, we spend hours brainstorming and creating user flows, feature ideas, and edge cases. I prototyped a solution on a weekend and now we use it daily, saving time.

We released it publicly after a few months. We work on it every Friday, finding it enjoyable.

P.S. Got a startup, app, or website idea? Just describe it in plain language. Uiino's AI will generate your story maps in under 10 seconds. It's FREE! (No account required!)

spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Software/methods to structure time for side projects
+1 Linear is amazing for individuals and teams. A keyboard-first approach, easy to create new tasks, graphs, comments, and documents makes it easy to work.

P.S. I run a product studio. I'm using Linear for teams and also for my creative projects.

spikey_sanju··on Show HN: Foorr – A minimal to-do app with social accountability
- No screenshot - No how it works - Says Get things actually done. (but how???) - Requires an account to see the product; no brainer.
spikey_sanju··on Why don't Chinese tea cups have handles?
+1
spikey_sanju··on Kino: Pro Video Camera
I bought the app right away when I saw it. I wanted it for its color editing feature. The app is nice and easy to use, and I didn't have any problems with it.

But when I started recording, the app crashed. It crashed again. It crashed again. It crashes while I'm still recording. This was very frustrating for me.

P.S –– I use iPhone 13

spikey_sanju··on Show HN: I built a LLM-powered Ask HN: like Perplexity, but for HN comments
Well done! I was also working on something similar and created a POC, but this is super nice.
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Whats your prediction for what 2030 will look like?
india's got hurdles, no doubt. but with the progress in space tech and the startup scene hungry for local solutions, there's room for optimism. oversaturation in traditional tech might happen, but that energy could transform healthcare, agriculture...the stuff that impacts everyday life. plus, smaller cities could become the new powerhouses if clean energy investment booms.

the shift is happening. soon, india will lead in creating solutions tailored to its needs, not copying silicon valley. UPI and ONDC prove this innovative spirit.

spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Best Hacks for a Ultrawide Monitor?
If you're using Raycast app already, you can easily control your windows using just a few shortcuts.
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What software do you pay for monthly?
I'm using it only for iPhone & iPad.
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What software do you pay for monthly?
Cloudflare, Vercel, Apple One & Google One that's it.
spikey_sanju··on Workers AI Update: Stable Diffusion, Code Llama and Workers AI in 100 Cities
16-17 seconds for generating one image.
spikey_sanju··on Show HN: I made a silly personal landing page
Awesome work!
spikey_sanju··on Show HN: SaaS Development Team as Monthly Subscription
No proof of work, no samples, no testimonials, no information about team. No attribution to illustration used. Just a simple lead magnet.

I love your confidence. But as a man who's been running a product studio for 3 years, I can confidently say it wouldn't work that way.

People invest in people who can do work. Maybe try adding work samples and more details about your team.

spikey_sanju··on Workers AI: Serverless GPU-powered inference
You can see the limitations here—https://x.com/spikeysanju/status/1707057365231812630?s=46
spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: Is It Worth Building the Next Headless CMS?
Many FOSS CMS platforms follow a standard approach, lacking openness to innovative solutions.

Coming from a design and tech background, I see numerous opportunities for CMS improvements that address a clear need gap.

spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What Makes a Great To-Do App? Your Ideas?
Your suggested tasks, notes, and bookmarks are much needed, similar to features in apps like Trello, Todoist, Notion, etc.

Combining plain-text interaction with graphical views is cool. Multiplatform sync is a plus.

However, many of these features already exist in some apps.

In 2023, it's surprising that there's no app yet to plan our day based on priority and thought process, aided by AI and more.

Seems like AGI is still far off.

spikey_sanju··on Ask HN: What tool/product do you wish existed?
Did you check out https://www.rewind.ai/? They're using Gen AI to address the issues you mentioned.
spikey_sanju··on Show HN: superwhisper – AI powered offline voice to text for macOS
Good job! But does double pressing Ctrl on a Mac activate the voiceover? What sets your app apart?
spikey_sanju··on Show HN: Unofficial OpenAI Status Dashboard
Great work! I've been thinking how helpful it would be if you could provide an API to access those results. That way, in our application, we can easily determine the fastest model based on their speed.

I operate a SaaS product that utilizes generative AI. Many users have been expressing concerns about the response speed. Interestingly, it seems that the speed is slower during the day and faster at night. Once again, this is fantastic information!

spikey_sanju··on How are you using ChatGPT internally at your company?
I am a single person running a company, and I used ChatGPT to create prompts for ChatGPT. The outcomes have been good up until now.
spikey_sanju··on Give It the Craigslist Test
Sure, I agree. I simplified my SaaS product SticAI.com and removed any unnecessary features to make it work better. This reduced any difficulties for users. I did the same thing for my open source portfolio website spikeysanju.com, where I made sure that users could consume the content without any distractions. That was the main goal for both projects.
spikey_sanju··on Thoughts on Svelte
I switched from Next.js to Svelte over a year ago. Since then, I have built medium-sized business products, and I can confidently say that Svelte is a joy to use. Their developer experience is on point. I agree with all the points made in the blog above, especially when it comes to working with forms. Svelte makes it easy with its inbuilt store, form actions, pageload, serverload, animations, and all of this results in a blazingly fast app. I even made an open-source version of my blog with SvelteKit.
