spdy··on Intel Security Issue Update: Addressing Reboot Issues
They cant because every PR is written by a lawyer this is full protection mode against lawsuits who are coming anyway.
spdy··on Intel Confronts Potential ‘PR Nightmare’ With Reported Chip Flaw
Isn't why this problem even exits the exact opposite? Intel was losing on the mobile market and changed internal testing to iterate faster by cutting corners.

Found a quote:

"We need to move faster. Validation at Intel is taking much longer than it does for our competition. We need to do whatever we can to reduce those times… we can’t live forever in the shadow of the early 90’s FDIV bug, we need to move on. Our competition is moving much faster than we are".

spdy··on Litecoin price, tweets, and conflict of interest
He just banked for what ever reason he has and is probably right. Many CEO's drop shares when the outlook is good and something is on the horizon - regulations and a bubble.

Price rallied from $3 to $360 within 8 months and only once in 4 years went over $30 he could easily have 20k+ LTCs that's a nice payout :)

His side project / startup just went public now he does not have to worry about money anymore and can do whatever he wants. Thats the best goal you can achieve in modern society "breaking the wheel".

spdy··on Kite telemetry code in Sublime package SideBarEnhancements
Interesting growth model by buying out developers of popular packages and add telemetry or the kite product.

You just kill all credibility on the way and you will be outlawed by maintainers etc.

We may be many but at certain bottlenecks ethics is still high and with OSS we are able to just fork packages.

As companies start to exploit developers trust we have to rethink the security model inside our IDE`s and probably move to a smartphone like sandbox model.

spdy··on UK election: Conservatives lose majority
Why is Corbyn a weak candidate? I don`t get it why left = communism.

Corbyn is a lot like Sanders he can get the youth to vote for some degrees and has good ideas for the majority of a country.

Austerity is not a good solution for the future within the new dawn of technology around the corner (ML/AI driven software)

spdy··on Nintendo to Double Production of Switch Console
Why do you need to rush through the game? I only play max 1 hour per day and having a blast.
spdy··on Planet Explorer Beta
Someone want to explain? It does not look free what is it useful for? Looks like Google Maps with a timeslider.
spdy··on What Killed the Linux Desktop (2012)
Arch Linux / i3wm best time investment in a long time
spdy··on Trump order strips privacy rights from non-U.S. citizens
Then we need to change the way people are able to raise money on ideas only. We dont have a Google/Facebook etc. because no one is willing to upfront the costs.

That's why we dont have a Silicon Valley in the EU.

Its a mentality problem inside the investor space to only put money into "safer" bets not moon-shots.

spdy··on European Union dedicated questionnaire on the Encryption of Data
And he was right there is no 3rd option in the US election system.
spdy··on Python Versions Used in Commercial Projects, 2016 Edition
From my personal opinion just porting a project from 2->3 we will get there. Python 3.6 offers to much to let is pass.

Ecosystem has moved far enough its just a matter of time when big frameworks etc. deprecate python 2.7 and this mostly happen around the real EOL of it.

spdy··on The Mac Platform Decline
Dont know i switch to arch linux and i3wm last year on my mbp and i dont want to go back. Same goes for the newest mbp in its current state i will buy another brand probably a surface when my mbp dies.
spdy··on Uber Self-Driving Truck Packed with Budweiser Makes First Delivery in Colorado
I dont argue over the point that people will find something to do but our concept of work and income changes with this. A truck/cashier etc. wont be able to take a course and be a nurse next week. UBI is one alley we can take.

We have to accept the fact that we wont have enough jobs for our growing population and part of what i am working on everyday is to do more with less by optimization and we cut into every area with technology from bottom to top. Human employment is expensive.

And never forget Google Minds win in GO was our Manhattan Project.

spdy··on Uber Self-Driving Truck Packed with Budweiser Makes First Delivery in Colorado
Not this time we dont move people sideways and we do not create more jobs because robots are here to stay and only get better. Look at what Boston Dynamics is able to do right now. A few years down the road and we will have fully automated chains from planting to delivery all done by robots with minimal maintenance from humans.

Self driving cars will be the first indicator if we will move to utopia or dystopia.

spdy··on Vim 8.0 released
Did the same best of both worlds.
spdy··on Vim 8.0 released
The main devs of NeoVim offered to work out an api for both versions but it never happend.

Seems like we are now in a feature war between both lets see who comes out winning. This whole thing could have happend so much smoother for the community but stubbornness sometimes lead to interesting innovations :).

spdy··on Taking stock of the new French-German encryption proposal
Elections are coming and everyone has to play tough. None of this is targeted at terrorist as is does not even remotely make sense its all about controlling the population.

Let`s see when they propose to ban math.

Mandatory John Oliver on Encryption :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsjZ2r9Ygzw

spdy··on Facebook is building its own Steam-style desktop gaming platform with Unity
I do not see myself moving away from steam anytime soon. Its easy and works.
spdy··on A Report on the Flawed 2016 Democratic Primaries
Never underestimate the power of "stick it to the man".

http://michaelmoore.com/trumpwillwin/ he has some good points.

spdy··on Pokemon Go API
https://github.com/tejado/pgoapi - Python version
spdy··on Amazon software engineer interview
> You should know exactly why you want to work for Amazon.

Never understood this company pride thing i like to work on interesting problems and if your company sells shoes or chewing gum so be it. Your problem space should attract programmers not who you are.

spdy··on Spanish authorities raid Google offices over tax
But this is not the context we are talking about here. Spain is part of the EU and the so called "1st" world.
spdy··on Spanish authorities raid Google offices over tax
How can a tax be in this category?
spdy··on Angular 2 – Best Practises
The only decision you have to make if you like opinionated frameworks or not.

Both ecosystems are vibrant enough to stay for the foreseeable future.

spdy··on UK votes to leave EU
And the 100 year cycle is in full effect. Sad times ...
spdy··on Emacs Live (2013)
For python development i started to really like the tab jumping in spacemacs always sets me in the right position based on level.

Came from vim as well and i wont go back. Spacemacs just fuses both vim / emacs world together seamlessly.

All important keystrokes are the same across languages which is nice.

Cant see me leaving the emacs-evil world anytime soon.

spdy··on Antarctic CO2 Hit 400 PPM for First Time in 4M Years
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_core

Ice was there and recorded it :/

spdy··on Aldi's Barcode Strategy
Waiting for this too. The day 75% of all cashiers in big chains lose their jobs
spdy··on What Does It Mean to Be Poor in Germany?
And? Everyone eligible has the same right and will get free accommodation as well. But there is a social criteria rating and a refugee fleeing from war gain the highest grade nothing wrong about this.

The failure isnt with the people but the government for not building enough houses ahead of time as they stopped to do so and even sold some of there owning for no real reason. Money is not the problem especially in bavaria.

But playing the card that the poor have to fight the poor is pretty stupid.

spdy··on Pebble 2, Time 2 + All-New Pebble Core
Worked twice will work again. You can pay and know ahead of time how the demand will be. Should lower your purchasing prices as well if you can pay upfront. Its a smart move and they will do it again and again with every new product they develop.

And they have filled order books which will help to raise money if there is a need for it.
