sourcecodeplz··on Moodle: Open-Source LMS
The cynicism never seems to subside here. Moodle was and is a great OPEN-SOURCE (FREE) learning management system that works on just about any web server. It is highly customizable and very easy to install and manage.

I've managed a Moodle install for my university for many years without any hiccups. I've trained lots of teachers on how to use it BUT usually they would just figure it out by themselves because it's quite intuitive.

A little optimism and positivity doesn't hurt now and again.

As always, if the product is free, you are the product...
sourcecodeplz··on Food companies ‘sweetened the world’ and increased the risk of disease
I've found the actual cooking time is just 1/3 of the whole process. The rest is washing the produce, pealing, dicing AND lastly, cleaning all the pots, pans, etc.

And no, not everything can go in the dishwasher.

I love the smell of fresh baked bread in the morning... I dunno what other smell would be better to wake up with, maybe the sea.

sourcecodeplz··on Voice Notes or Text Messages?
Depends really, me and my friends we use both but I haven't received a voice message longer than 1 minute.

But most often I prefer actual calls.

sourcecodeplz··on ChatGPT Now Losing Users
I understand GPT-4 is still as powerful and not nerfed if used via API.
sourcecodeplz··on Proof you can do hard things
You take maths because it shapes your brain, it forces new neuron connections to be formed in the right side of your brain. Then you also have literature and arts for the left side.

The brain is like a muscle, if you don't train it, it wont grow AND you will basically be STUPID. That is it.

Why would you judge the person because some kid somewhere is a trigger happy moderator?

sourcecodeplz··on Google is about to make life more difficult for custom ROM fans
Because just like with the iPhone mini, a small but vocal minority is not worth serving if development costs are too high.

Most people don't care about hacking their phone. They just want one that works.

sourcecodeplz··on Loneliness is stronger when not alone
I'd rather have shitty friends than no friends really, because shitty people are not shitty all the time.

sourcecodeplz··on Two years of teaching high school CS
While watching some math videos from Eddie Woo [0], I was surprised at how the students were behaving throughout his lessons. They were joking with each other, being loud etc. This was not how I experienced school. The teacher is talking and you are listening. You are to talk when the teacher asks you to, otherwise you get kicked out of the class.

Dunno why I wanted to post this but is that really how it is in USA highschool?

In this case there is no caveat. The truth is: it works just fine on Windows 10. I just installed it.
sourcecodeplz··on Adobe Tells Users They Can Get Sued for Using Old Versions of Photoshop (2019)
Is this really actually free?

edit: I've downloaded and installed Photoshop CS2 from the Archive.org link. Activated with the provided key. Works flawlessly on Windows 10. Thanks a lot for this!

edit2: "Adobe has not officially released the CS2 software for free. Instead, it has canceled its CS2 license management servers because of a technical glitch, so for those with existing licenses it is now offering downloads that do not require contact with the licensing servers. While Adobe admits this may be seen as it giving its software away for free, this service is intended for those with existing Adobe CS2 licenses."

The fact that you can build a whole app inside just one index.php file is highly underrated and I understand how newbies finding this out are getting excited.

I remember when Rails first launched and I wanted to try it but it was so complicated to get started.
