solution-finder··on Ask HN: What are the TLDs that have cheapest renewal fees
Off topic and out of sheer interest (and if you don't mind), would you like sharing what purpose do you use those many domains for? I'm guessing it is for side projects. Could be of interest to general community here. Thanks
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Newsletters are a mess for me. Need help
Readwise.io reader was the answer for me
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2023 – Show and tell
How do you market or spread the word about them?
solution-finder··on The strange disappearance of Mrs Agatha Christie (2022)
Fascinating. Reminds of Gone Girl
solution-finder··on My first $10k internet dollars
Congratulations, this is huge! Would you mind sharing how did you approach marketing?
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Could you share your personal blog here?
I like the clean interface, which platform is it based on?
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Could you share your personal blog here?
Clean and simple. What is the platform behind the site? Ghost?
solution-finder··on Ask HN: What are some life optimization tricks you have discovered?
ICE - reminds of Emirates flight entertainment system.
solution-finder··on Ask HN: How are the current layoffs affecting non-US developers?
A few layoffs in Microsoft Sydney too.
solution-finder··on Ask HN: What news subscription is worth it?
I agree! I have subscribed before to NYT, Economist using Apple’s subscriptions and therefore never had any issues in unsubscribing, or needing to call somebody to unsubscribe.
solution-finder··on Intellectual Loneliness
Hey Scruple, it would be great if you could share your reading list or recommendations.
solution-finder··on No-code startup Bubble raises $100M
I can talk about one of the low code/no code product: Power Platform. It is a Microsoft’s low-code/no-code platform that let users create apps, develop workflows, develop chat and desktop bots and also use commoditized AI models. The platform is now in business since 4+ years and I know many Fortune 100 companies who have got 5000+ apps - both for internal org and for business with external partners, subcontractors etc. It is a massive thing. A simple license gets you a storage space in cloud, works with Teams, Office 365, Sharepoint etc and also apps thus developed (all using no code/low code approach) can scale (without rewriting using code) to talk to Microsoft’s business apps aka Dynamics 365 and 400+ other systems (inc Oracle etc)

I feel the view of ‘no code / low code’ is a bit primitive here. It used to be like that but last 3/4 years, the entire thing paradigm has changed fundamentally.

solution-finder··on Ask HN: What tool/method do you use to maintain your bookmarks?
I have started using Collections in Edge. Better than Chrome Bookmarks in terms of UX
solution-finder··on Logging into Gmail on Chrome links my Google Account to the browser
Surprised no one mentioned Microsoft’s new Edge browser. It’s based on Chromium engine but without a lot of those recently annoying features of Chrome
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Which book do you want to read next?
Very impressive website, thanks for sharing book notes.
solution-finder··on I bought 200 Raspberry Pi Model B’s and I’m going to fix them
That’s an excellent idea. Will you be writing a blogpost about it (please please)!
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Consultants and freelancers, how do you handle invoicing?
Nice and simple! I’ve recently started and was thinking to get Xero but then thought why pay $$ each month. With only one client, I want to save every penny
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2020 – Show and tell
Just stopping by to say this is an excellent idea with beautiful execution. If there is a product with ‘geek humor’ I’ll buy right away!
solution-finder··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2020 – Show and tell
Awesome, the UX is beautiful.

I’ve got a couple Saas ideas for building as side projects but as the common startup advice goes - I need to validate the idea first. Would you like to share how did you validate the idea, or was it a project for a customer which was later productised? thanks!

solution-finder··on Ask HN: Do you have a personal website?
Yes I do: https://akhan.me

The purpose of the website for me is a combo of few objectives: 1. Write/publish on Azure/Dynamics 365/Power Platform etc., 2. As my one pager profile with links to other side projects, ..above two is already happening, I’m going to work on below soon: 3. To serve as a repository of notes (some call it ‘digital garden’) where I publish excerpts of the best I read/watch and reflections on them 4. To host curations on the topics I’m interested in and on which I’ve collected the useful ways, tips and strategies from various books etc. Eg 1:1 meetings, Consultancy notes, Productivity tools etc

solution-finder··on Ask HN: How to Make $20K a Month
Off the topic, curious how you calculated valuation using monthly income?
