"You must be over a certain age to use this feature."
Doesn't anyone think that this is the perfect market to be entering these days? The market has a ton of potential (as evident by all the money that is being spent on it) and the satisfaction with the current leaders is seriously lacking.
Are there any YC companies that are tackling this area?
Thanks for making such a great site!

Why aren't we just as concerned
that there are far fewer male hairdressers than female?
CS jobs are held in higher esteem in society than hair dressing jobs. They pay more and require more experience. Perhaps women just don't want to get into computer science.
And no amount of bending over backwards and trying to
appeal to female programmers will get us to a situation of
50% female developers.
Or perhaps they do want to get into computer science and there are a number of obstacles stopping them. Most people would agree with this.If you're going come up a controversial answer, you better have some solid evidence backing you up.
People upvote these comments and they tend to make it to the top. This says something about HN.
What's wrong with comments like these ones is that they are being overly aggressive and argumentative for the sake of being overly aggressive and argumentative. Sure, being critical of others' opinions is a good habit to have, but disrespect is not.
In this comment, you tell the other site users to not waste your time on this and that this might just be an elaborate joke or sarcasm. That's pretty harsh for something that someone wrapped up together in their spare time and evidently put effort into it. Whether or not you agree, at least try to find the light in the piece of the work.
I know that a lot of people would be more inclined to read and accept an answer if you made it into less of a one-sided argument. Acknowledging both side and taking time to point out the strengths before the weaknesses go a long way and add to the overall politeness of the comment.
Popularity has nothing to do with news
If you've been on the internet before, you'll know this is not true.>Why is there so much discussion about what might be the success or failure of products/services/companies/etc? It's all noise.
And the answer to that question is quite simple. If there are people out there willing to read it, then there are people out there that are going to write it. Online journalism and blogs have made these types of articles the norm.

suking, this is truly awesome. It immediately joined my bookmark folder of favorite HN tools. I'd be curious, though, if whether or not it would be possible to filter out user names when counting how many times a word has appeared on the site. Or would that be too much of a challenge?
You mentioned a good point about JavaScript. By sticking with Java, it'll be easier for me to get started and yet I will still learn a ton on the client side with new things like JQuery.
However, I read that the Play framework might be better than Groovy on Grails[1]. Have you heard of it and, if so, what do you think about it?

Even if you're are trying to filter out a certain group of people, it doesn't call for being borderline rude and arrogant. From what I've gathered through your other comments, you are neither of these. Therefore there is no reason for you to give people the wrong impression.
