I challenge you to find one time period or some states/tribes which did not plunder and enslave each other throughout history. I'm fed up with all this "oh but they did it first" - everybody did it first and that's still no reason to continue doing it with the children of their children.
Switzerland does that over 65 years old - every 2 years you have to do the visit. But because it's with your own family doctor, everybody is basically passing the test. It still needs a workable solution...
And why should we all have to buy big ass phones because your vision is declining? Nobody argued big phones shouldn't exist, it's just small phones currently don't.
I must underline, the winning wave of the rightwing peddle on increasing this dependency to cheap russian energy even more, while they're also criticizing Merkel and the others for building a dependency to cheap russian energy. Maybe I'm getting it wrong, but it's mind boggling.
If human labor is devalued, who will pay for the inference in the end? You might answer that some corporation will, but also that corporation must get their money from somewhere. And if "we the people" have no money to spend, at some point the corporation back scratching circle will break. Or am I wrong?
In Switzerland there's another solution: the streaming providers (Sunrise, Teleboy) insert their own ads if you choose to skip the channel ads. To be fair, Teleboy offers also a more expensive tier without ads at all, but like other commenters said, I reckon that public is gonna be milked more and more.
I don't know why you must underline all that "first world" thing, it doesn't make your argument stronger. Please actually verify it, instead of blindly repeating slogans. Namely the courts may start with the letter, find subsequently the letter doesn't apply 100% because things and humans, then proceed to apply the spirit of the law the way they interpret it.
I'm not sure building their own furniture is an option for most of the people. I definitely won't do it, ew. Heck, even you aren't doing it, why even recommending it? Yes, flea markets are a budget friendly option, provided you can wait until something passable shows up, and you can arrange transport and putting it up.
Huh??? The intent of the law is what the entire system and in the entire world is working nowadays, I mean in the real world - aka outside of the minds of the technocultists. This is exactly what the courts are doing everywhere, upholding the intent of the law, and also why legal AI is continuously failing at it - it can't figure out the intent among all edge cases and yeah technicalities.
True, the Swiss is the simplest way around - and in planning is to activate it even without swiping (I'm not sure I remember details): But let's face it the tap system is not that far behind, because in some implementations it can do that calculation by itself (I believe having seen it in London?) so at the end of the day you end up paying the optimal price.
What will hit you before that here in Switzerland is the local authorities which have in front of their eyes a certain plan for your building, and anything not on the plan (in this case the AC unit) will need a permit. It's not an easy task, I would say impossible actually, to get such a permit, unless you find a way to redesign the whole facade in a acceptable way (units poking out doesn't count as acceptable).
I've had one placed like this in the balcony of a XVth century palazzo turned museum plus hotel, straight in the historical heart of Verona. If they can do it, everybody can do it as well.
Now here is exactly one place where the regulation can hit hard: awnings are maybe not allowed because the house wasn't designed with them. Possible to get the new design approved? For sure. Simple? Ha.
I don't bother with rewards either, be it cards or memberships or whatnot - too much hassle if you're also working full time. BUT: one thing I use the credit card for and that is for the pay and travel insurance attached to it. Could I get it otherwise? Maybe, no idea. But if you don't carry debt (and I never do) there's no downside.
For sure I wouldn't be able to tell the difference, but I don't know anything screaming more "processed food" than the meat alternatives. The component list is longer than this thread, sorry I wouldn't touch that with a hundred feet pole (hyperbole mine).
It's probably the difference you can also notice between Switzerland and Germany for example. Take rough sleeping: in Germany it's there (no, not LA-style but still noticeable). In Switzerland they get immediately rounded up and taken to a shelter, no "muh freedom" discussion just housed. Add warm meals and a community and the light at the end of the tunnel starts to be be noticed. Of course mentally ill will come out again, so at some point they will have to be institutionalized. Nobody belongs on the streets, no matter what the gop is telling.
