snap12789··on Generic Drugs May Not Be As Safe Or Effective As Thought
Exactly; there was a oped w/ similar voice in NYT about a week ago. US Pharm companies are losing the ability to fix prices on their preferred generics, so they're switching to fear PR to promote their 'premium generics.'

you are a godsend; this is so clear!
snap12789··on Ask HN: How do YOU define a junior developer?
Someone who values learning over dominance; the more you learn, the more junior you'll feel.
snap12789··on I joined a startup and it's been a month they haven't paid me, what can i do?
I would be inclined to say leave immediately, find a new job and rate them negatively on glassdoor. It seems like it's a bit too early for them to not have the financial foresight to be able to pay you. Maybe after a year, but not after just being hired.

If you really care about the company, your role, and have over a year's worth of expendable savings, you could try to convince them that a partnership with an equity stake is a better form of payment for both parties. Good luck though; sounds like they're scheisters.

snap12789··on Employer “unable to provide any feedback” about interview process
Wow, fuck those guys; an 8-10 hour interview process with no feedback? Even if you do receive feedback, I wouldn't take it seriously. This interview sounds abusive and unprofessional, but hey, they wouldn't have done it if they didn't find applicants.
snap12789··on Ask HN: Salary Expectation for Junior Developer
Find companies you want to work for, then look on glassdoor for salaries.

Location + tech stack determine your salary and there is no single answer. If you find comparative salaries to your skill set you can pretty much ask for that, refuse to go lower and get the salary you want.

snap12789··on Ask HN: Importance of a good .com domain?
Unless you own a super common word or group of words as .com; it doesn't make too much of a difference. Only enthusiasts will use a smaller service, regardless of its usefulness and will be ok googling for a domain or entering a less common TLD. Wait to see if it develops and if it does, use your profits to buy the right domain for more casual consumers.

I'd say best you can do is make your site https and responsive and make sure you have all relevant SEO data to increase its indexing performance.

snap12789··on The world’s first true “smart drug” enhances cognition
Sketch article + sketch pharma company who pays the best agencies to advertise amphetamines with wide uses. This post needs to go.

They got nearly all of their patients to convert to Nuvigil from Provigil after it went off patent; not sure why they're trying to generate interest in their old meds again. Maybe they're the most available maker.

snap12789··on Ask HN: Is it necessary to be a CS major be successful in the tech sector?
No; you can learn anything on your own online, but it's easier through the structure from school. If you're paying for school yourself, however, you'll be in a much better financial position learning cs on your own.
