snak··on Ask HN: What are good life skills for people to learn?
First time I've heard about "hedonic treadmill". Found a little bit of information about the concept, very interesting, but can't seem to find a similar concept/translation in spanish.
snak··on .NET Memory Performance Analysis
Four, include Marc Gravell.

snak··on .NET Team Survey: Native AOT
Same here. Generic hateful statement from a developer that probably has spent a couple of days at most in .NET.
snak··on Show HN: I built a desktop radiation monitor with Raspberry Pi, brass and wood
Looks amazing. Dekatron tubes are great, I didn't know what they were called, thanks for sharing.
snak··on JWT is Awesome
Well, for a long time there was no SameSite browser support for cookies, CSRF was a vulnerability (excluding STP and other techniques to avoid it).
snak··on Ask HN: I've been slacking off at Google for 6 years. How can I stop this?
While I agree with you on some points, the cost of life in European countries is not the same as USA.
snak··on Ask HN: I've been slacking off at Google for 6 years. How can I stop this?
Europe? Could you specify country?
snak··on I thought I understood recursion
Here's my code golf attempt in C#.

    public static List<int> Sieve(int n)
    {
        bool[] arr = Enumerable.Range(0, n).Select(i => true).ToArray();

        Enumerable
            .Range(2, (int) Math.Sqrt(n) - 2)
            .ToList()
            .ForEach(i => { if (arr[i]) Enumerable.Range(0, (n - (i * i)) / i).ToList().ForEach(j => arr[j * i + (i * i)] = false); });

        return arr.Select((b, i) => b ? i : 0).Where(i => i > 0).ToList();
    }
snak··on WebAssembly becomes a W3C Recommendation
C#/.NET will be in that bandwagon. They have been pushing WebAssembly usage with their Blazor framework.
snak··on Dynamo vs. Cassandra: Systems Design of NoSQL Databases (2018)
Thanks for the reminder. Should be mentioned in the article.
snak··on Symmetry454
Which language?
snak··on TLA+ model checking made symbolic
I've seen it used in RabbitMq, but I also wonder if this is used in the real world or just in academia/few technologies.
snak··on A Dead-Simple Web Stack in Haskell
I despise PHP, but those are words of truth. The first time developer experience in vanilla PHP is the most friendly and easy as you can get, cannot be compared against Next.js, AspNetCore, Flask, Express.js, or any other framework in any other language I could imagine.
snak··on Common Workflow Language
Came to the comments looking for this.
snak··on GitHub Archive Program
Icee what you did there.
snak··on Ask HN: What are your experiences with Svelte (JS framework)
How come there is no TypeScript support, but in the official GitHub repo (https://github.com/sveltejs/svelte) they state:

"The compiler is written in TypeScript, but don't let that put you off — it's basically just JavaScript with type annotations."

snak··on Ask HN: What is the most beautiful piece of code you've ever read?
That's awesome. I ran into this situation in C#, and looks like it is useful in some cases.

snak··on A neural net solves the three-body problem 100M times faster
Yeah, this is classic neural network hype. I wish there were a way to automatically copy-paste my usual comment on trusting the MIT Tech Review, and especially its Emerging Technologies column, whenever such a link is submitted.
snak··on 63 Cores Blocked by Seven Instructions
That was a good read. In-depth but understandable. Thanks for sharing.
snak··on Ancient artifacts dislodged by climate change
I decided to block all medium cookies in Chrome a few weeks ago when that message popped up, and now that you mention it I haven't seen it in a while, so I guess it is enough, no scripts/add-ons required.
snak··on YouTube is taking down educational hacking videos
That will come in handy, thanks!
snak··on Serverless: slower and more expensive
> It's like renting a car 365 days out of the year instead of purchasing, it only makes sense if you only need it sporadically.

Spot on! Great analogy.

snak··on Google Maps shows sunken car where missing man’s body was found
Nice one, I laughed out loud.
snak··on 94k Bitcoin (1B USD) transferred from unknown wallet to unknown wallet
Thanks!
snak··on The more you learn, the faster you can learn
Fighting boredom by becoming dumber, couldn't have said it better myself.

If you feel like this is happening, it is time for a change.

snak··on A radical new idea erases quantum theory’s weird uncertainties
Article is behind a paywall...
snak··on Tasty Seaweed Reduces Cows’ Methane Emissions by 99%
That's an interesting way to put it into words. In paper sounds like a really unefficient pipeline (vegetables -> animals -> humans).

Thanks for that, made me reflect on how stupid it sounds but how common it is.

snak··on Ceramic-bearing bicycle drive shaft (2018)
I'm an enduro and downhill rider myself, and I don't see these coming anytime soon to the "mountain bike" world. Looks fragile and susceptible of failure under high forces and dirt/mud.
snak··on Netflix’s biggest bingers get hit with higher internet costs
Traffic in a highway during rush hours, can't imagine a better analogy. Nailed that one.
snak··on 2020 Porsche Taycan Electric Car Review: Should Tesla Be Worried?
Very sensationalist... too focused on the comparison against Tesla.
