smt923··on iPhone 13 Pro camera review: Tanzania
> But an iPhone fits in your pocket.

this is the reason I loved the Ricoh GR series of cameras, an APS-C sensor that genuinely fits in almost any pocket is incredible, it's not for everyone but I wish there were more companies trying this, even the X100 cameras are too big for that

smt923··on Bespoke Synth 1.0 – open-source software modular synthesizer
that's definitely got a lot of stuff too, though from what I've seen the PPOOLL stuff seems a bit more high level closer to bespoke synth, I guess the ideal thing is something that spans both, though bespoke is one of the easiest to use ones I've seen yet which is nice
smt923··on Bespoke Synth 1.0 – open-source software modular synthesizer
the other link has a little, it's kinda just something i've seen around in different places when I was super curious about his music and how you'd produce stuff like that, specific ones I can find right now are in random threads[1] and in a red bull music interview he talks about it a tiny bit[2]

smt923··on Bespoke Synth 1.0 – open-source software modular synthesizer
damn, I've been looking for something similar to Max/PPOOLL but more accessible (especially on windows/linux) after reading about Tim Hecker using it and this seems like it could get to that point
smt923··on AWS forked my project and launched it as its own service
that kinda implies two equal parties instead of a solo dev doing something in their spare time vs an evil megacorp
smt923··on Bevy: A Game Engine in Rust
of course, just pointing out that right now it's a pretty large distinction between the two
smt923··on Bevy: A Game Engine in Rust
A big distinction for me is not having a nice UI for level design and 'arranging' everything that isn't the code, though a lot of the other aims do seem pretty similar
smt923··on Bevy: A Game Engine in Rust
I think it's actually pretty common that when a fairly typical thing is written in a newer/modern/less common language, it's often stated as "X written in <new language>"
smt923··on Searching for 'VK' shows only a single result on DuckduckGo. Why?
yeah there is some absolutely questionable stuff there, I wonder why searching for VK brings them all up, some of these seem like random direct-to-youtube uploads but there's so many of kids that it almost seems like someone's collection, but why does a search for VK return them all? seems like a strange coincidence that there'd be troubling image results and empty normal results
smt923··on Nvidia calling gaming PC owners to put their systems to work fighting Covid-19
my RX 570 got through two GPU workunits for COVID-19 via folding@home without any setup or beta programs or anything, just kinda worked fine for me
smt923··on Firefox 75 on Wayland now to have full WebGL, working VA-API acceleration
I've found wayland still has strange input, if there's a lot of CPU usage going on (something compiling or whatever) then the mouse and keyboard input will 'lag' and get stuck, plus it feels worse in games to me but the benefits seem really good, I hope wayland can keep improving so I can switch without it feeling worse for me
smt923··on Chicago95 Linux Theme
Honestly it might be a trivial thing to most people but I really do find the way Linux tends to render fonts to just be really telling and ugly, this has genuinely put me off using Linux more for development stuff as it's a big problem with VSCode in my experience
smt923··on Godot gets a brand new animation editor with cinematic support
I actually missed this, and the thing with Vector3s and such not being all in one was one of my main gripes, I'm super happy to see stuff like this
smt923··on Godot gets a brand new animation editor with cinematic support
The one thing I hope Godot can push towards is just a huge pass in usability, smoothing out UI bugs and just generally improving the look and feel of the entire engine and all of it's UI - stuff like the 'inspector' panel just doesn't feel as nice or as usable as something like Unity's - it has great features but in my opinion just doesn't "feel" quite as polished as it could be, but I really do hope for this engine to keep improving and getting better
smt923··on Show HN: A Simple Website for Checking Cloudbleed from Browser's History
I noticed for me discord's site and laravel was also duplicated
smt923··on Go Web Examples
This is one of the things that most stood out with me while I was learning Go, it's just so easy to read other people's examples and just understand it without too much hard thought
