Fintech, easy to trigger some sort of failure mode or obvious gap once specs get detailed enough and the prompt intents become specific enough. Doesn't require exhausting available context. Opus 5 did feel like a regression, will hold out judgement on 5.5 which seems much more promising.
Somehow still theoretically valued at 3 trillion. I just don't see a path forward for Ameican frontier providers when competitors can give absolutely massive savings elsewhere. It's like losing manufacturing all over again.
People dont even trust meta with their personal data anymore but somehow they'll use it to run every aspect of their lives? This feels like another big failure in the making. Give me an AI that doesn't use my data at all and maybe I'll use it. I already have Google AI Mode for that. Does that steal my data too, maybe, but at least it doesn't have Metas history of abusing repeatedly. They burned that bridge so many times even non techies know not to trust Meta.
640k ought be enough for this AI. I'm not sure takes like these are helpful. It's widely acknowledged that this is a technological shift, like electricity, like industrialization, etc. It could be (good or bad) but most likely (good AND bad). Does anyone really believe, sincerely, that AI will be the great equalizer? It's a hilarious proposition. They are working their hardest to make sure that its not imo.
Is there something like that but simply a GUI web wrapper around subscriptions and memory layer? I want a web ui. I don't think in terms of these personality types though, my tasks are dynamic. For example, claude can run N agents in one window right now and be accurate about it, so I scope agent by project level.
Everytime I see a bad guy get cuffed in a movie in the front, I say "nope! the cop can get choked out now!". Thanks Police Quest, you taught us all a little safety that day.
Years later, I appreciated the ability the get stuck in Sierra games. It makes each decision or moment just that much more important. Leave no stone unturned or thought unthunk!
60 billion to drum up excitement as an acquisition into an overvalued megacorp that can now be dressed up as "AI". It's just numbers gaming, nothing to do with actual value.
Because they influence a lot of opinions which influences decisions which ends up influencing all our lives. Back around 2016 bots were loose on ut internet, with everyone freely gobbling up misinformation. Now there is an unofficial army of people determined to keep facts up at the forefront as well as other malicious social media negative trends at bay.
Google and good is of some debate. Appearing on a list of 10 links is not a democratic representation of the web. I'm hoping this reckoning is also an opportunity for a better method of web organization
It's still not really an either or scenario. Skills will always serve a purpose as high level on demand contextual guidance. I think of MCPS as hard tools, api contracts etc. While the initial release gave them the ability to be contextual sources as well, I think that's now better served with skills, and mcps can focus on being repositories of functionality.
I have been loving deepseek flash. I can code in my hitl preference doing complex but moderate amount of coding and not even hit 1 dollar in a session. It gets harder to justify paying 20/mo to Anthropic for unused compute when I have it on demand and at a much cheaper rate with deepseek.
And isn't this all dependent on todays modern expensive transformers based inference demands? If the next gen of inference is much more kwh efficient what happens to all these data centers and jobs?
Claude 4.5 was it (nov 2025?), without a doubt. It went from frequent hallucinations to highly usable with much less garbage output. If you were making demos of AI tools around this time your demo/pitch/product was saved and you probably looked like a genius.
