You'd be surprised. Lots of evidence and some writings on banks in the Babylonian times, with similar concepts dating back well over 2500 years. Obviously much has changed. Oddly, SBF seems to have perpetuated an early form of fraud, "confidence men"
Insure what, exactly? Insure peoples imaginary crypto coins? Insure deposits into a brokerage account? Did FTX sweep brokerage accounts into a valid, insurable class? You're missing a ton here, buddy
Aren't CAs supposed to go through vetting and audits before getting trusted in operating systems and browsers? We even went through a SOC audit just for our own internal CA!
Can you detail any of these "small and large breakages" or "bit rot"?
It just doesn't jive with my experiences with any large code bases in nearly any language, python included.
Yah, nothing the GP says makes any sense. I've been working with large code bases with many languages for many years. None are perfect, but the GP makes no sense, sounds like poor decisions or poor code rather than a poor language.
I checked my FTX account, only had play money in there. But, despite all the people saying "FTX is fine, withdrawls still work, it's all fine" - nope, everything is disabled, withdrawls show $0.10 avaialble to withdrawl (out of a few hundred I had in actual US cash, plus the BTC and doge transactions are all disabled.
This is very serious for many people - there are some who had substantial amounts of money, including my friend who is at the moment suicidal, a lot of his identity and worth was tied up in crypto.
Please offer support to those you know who are affected by this scam, and do not encourage or enable anyone else to dablle more than throwaway money into anything crypto
A senior manager of Google News? Someone would actually claim that distinction, one of Google's worst run properties?
Maybe they should have talks from sector experts about improving their products first.
Can I use this space to complain about Confluence? The jarring loading of divs and navbars and content - plaintext content mind you. And we have over 15MB of javascript to display Confluence articles. How did things get so bad? Is it inexperience product owners, product designers?
I timed a Confluence load, and it didnt finish grabbing and executing JS for like 17 seconds, which is -insane-
