Just a guess
- give them ~30 minutes on their own machine
- they get to pick the language they code in
- I leave the room for large parts of it
- I bring them a drink
- I tell them I want to see what they can do and that I don't care if they complete it
- permit them to search on the internet (as long as they don't copy/paste a solution)
I see this usually: - they finish in a few minutes
- they just can't do it, even with hints sysupgrade; sysmerge; pkg_add -u;
Done! What a delight! There is no connection to recent problem with the 737 MAX 9 where a door plug was not installed correctly. Instead, this occurred on an older (previous generation) 737 airplane. The cause of this incident is that the door had not been closed properly prior to take-off.
(original Dutch: "Er is geen enkel verband met de deurplugproblematiek van de 737 MAX 9: het gaat in dit geval om een 737 van de vorige generatie, waarbij de deur voor vertrek niet goed luchtdicht was afgesloten.")
Is this applicable elsewhere in “developed” countries as far as anyone else knows?
What does that even mean? And do they completely destroy the sampled data from all their systems incl. backups? Can’t find that anywhere.
If not: is it really anonymous?
Really? That's no way to live man, cheer up. No one can predict the future, and doomsayers have always been around and will always be around. Sure: things might get hairy, but even then we will manage (or perhaps some of us will).
And if not: then not. Enjoy yourself in the meantime while doing the best you can in terms of being environmentally conscious
My current workflow is to have multiple files open each in a separate terminal tab, but navigating between them Cmd+Shift+[ and ] feels suboptimal.
Does anyone have any great tips? I work on Java and Ruby (rails) projects most of the time.

Question is: at what cost?
Parrhesia means literally "to speak everything" and by extension "to speak freely", "to speak boldly". It implies not only freedom of speech, but the obligation to speak the truth for the common good, even at personal risk.
Really?

Can we reframe our purpose and just be content living?
