you can use Spotify in the background, if you jailbreak and install Backgrounder. Then when you have Spotify open you just hold the home button and it enables backgrounder and keeps it running in the background, so you can use your mail or other apps. Tried it today and it worked perfect. :-)

This is the single best advice in the thread. "Launch and you'll be forced to stay on your toes". This is what I did, and i'm finding it more and more difficult to procrastinate :-).
