siva7··on 'Crush this lady': how eBay harassment campaign led to $56M payout
Yup, i've worked long enough with senior mgmt to know that anything of interest for prosecution won't be written down, especially not on company devices. Those making the mistakes of writing things down are those actually prosecuted, the ranks and files.
siva7··on Karpathy’s Pelican
Used, yes. That alone won't pay the bill.
siva7··on DeepSeek-V4-Flash Update
CCP will be happy! Go on and share all your data with them..
siva7··on UEFA and its national associations will not participate in FIFA competitions
Hockey isn't comparable to the scale of a world cup
siva7··on What is happening to jobs? Separating AI hype from reality
The timescale is well established: Late '25 was the start of agentic ai when capabilities of model + api + scaffold reached autonomous state. Any study comapring events before that timeframe is comparing apples with oranges.
siva7··on Cloudflare's new AI traffic options for customers
"I don’t think ADOG (anthropic, deepmind, openai, google) is going to pay to crawl."

You seem to misunderstand. You pay or you die. There's nothing in between. Cloudflare will happily collect the tax. As does Apple (collecting 20B$ yearly from Google for the "tax"). Cloudflare's users also won't mind about how the company handles ADOG as long as they get a chunk of the cake by getting freebies and cheap services.

siva7··on Cloudflare's new AI traffic options for customers
So Google has to pay Cloudflare 10B$ to get Googlebot moved to their default Allowlist otherwise Google would loose access to a significant portion of the internet? Genius move.
siva7··on Claude Opus 5
Why should it? An Anthropic model is architecturally optimized for Anthropic models, routing it to Kimi makes zero sense
siva7··on I got into YC Startup School by hacking it
> I uncovered Y Combinator was scoring 100k+ founders around the world through Paxel

Alright, my ears are wide open. Tell us more, how did YC use the private submission data from thousands of founders to score them? They fed some 3rd-Party AI all personal data to score who should get an interview? I can't be the only one here seeing a bad news story unfolding in real time...

siva7··on ChatGPT medical advice brought man 'to brink of death', lawsuit alleges
Even GPT-5.4 is ancient compared to intelligence of 5.6 although those are only 4 months apart. We're talking about at least twice the capabilities and that's scary to achieve in such a short timeframe.
siva7··on Fields Medals 2026
"harmonic analysis and geometric measure theory, including applications of multiscale and decoupling techniques to the local smoothing conjecture for the planar wave equation, and major advances in Fourier restriction, Falconer distance sets, Furstenberg sets in the plane, and the Kakeya problem in three dimensions."

I'm not sure there is another profession in the world where it's impossible to explain to a layman on what the winners of their most prestigious award have worked on.

siva7··on Launch HN: Screenpipe (YC S26) – Record how you work and turn that into agents
Well, i'm not sure who your customers are (except companies in Russia, NK..), but european employers would break laws by allowing your software to be used, long even before AI became a thing and especially after the EU AI Act has passed. To put it mildly, no sane corporation would allow such software to be used which tells me a bit about the sanity of the current VC landscape.
siva7··on Terrence Tao's ChatGPT Conversation about the Jacobian Conjecture Counterexample
As a counterpoint, i've worked with enough math PhD's over my career who couldn't wrap their head intuitively around many concepts from software engineering, while others had no problems in doing so even from folks without any stem background. We often undererstimate how much field knowledge we aquire over the years and overestimate how easy it is for others to catch up.
siva7··on Advertise in ChatGPT
is this a joke? namecheap did years ago the brave move by suspending services to russian customers. why should we support a company that seems involved in russian war affairs?
siva7··on OpenAI and Hugging Face address security incident during model evaluation
This is historic if all true. So this is what AGI looks like... pretty close to terminator screenplay.
siva7··on GPT-5.6 used a prompt to close a 30-year gap in convex optimization
It's funny how you applied on your own argument several logical fallacies about why ai is only a threat to people who have been taught "recipies" versus who know what L1 cache miss is.

Actually it's sad there are people out there dumb enough to believe knowing L1 cache is any different than knowing recipies when it comes to the story which jobs AI will take. I'm convinced by now it will be the jobs of those people believing such crap.

siva7··on AWS: Inaccurate Estimated Billing Data – $1.7 billion
listen... i got agent skills.. im good at talking to agents!!
siva7··on OpenAI loses trademark dispute at EU court
god thanks ClosedAI is still available
siva7··on What are Forward Deployed Engineers, and why are they so in demand? (2025)
Orwellian speak for ... you won't get paid like our base engineers and when we want to get rid of you, we send you to our Siberian customer because you are a forward deployed engineer haha

Still i want to believe i'm wrong and it's a good job.

siva7··on Apple sues OpenAI, accuses ex-employees of stealing trade secrets
That's literally what they're looking for. To filter out ethical founders.
siva7··on GPT-5.6
Ok, I'll never use max effort again on OAI models..
siva7··on GPT-5.6
Have been long time clauder but honestly codex feels much more liberating. Something you can't buy..
siva7··on Tell HN: Who wants to be hired" posts outpace "Who's hiring" 2 to 1
Software people are kind of different than doctors or lawyers.. probably also the reason why they act much more innovative than any other profession up to the point to invent the damn thing that replaces them (and likely wipes out humanity at some point if we believe the plot of terminator or matrix)
siva7··on GPT-5.5 Codex reasoning-token clustering may be leading to degraded performance
I swear some days ago someone here claimed Openai succeeded cutting down their compute cost by half with a breakthrough optimization. So this is it?
siva7··on GPT-5.5 Codex reasoning-token clustering may be leading to degraded performance
I've switched 3 months ago to Codex because Claude got incredibly stupid. 6 months ago vice versa. It doesn't matter if you use Codex or Claude. Both will fuck with you at some point. Though Codex probably less.
siva7··on AI has torched the market for junior programmers
I have no doubt any junior, no matter their background or degree, will break into tech fine like all of us did if they are in for the reasons we got in - being nerds and fascinated by software. You can't fake that.
siva7··on Command and Conquer Generals natively ported to macOS, iPhone, iPad using Fable
no way fable did this. It would have stopped after the words "command and conquer" and nerfed you to opus (while also landing you on some nsa watch list)
siva7··on Sick leave: Germany rising but not the worst in Europe
If you need such laws to be enforced in order to keep your workforce on leash... you are either a very uninspiring employer or you are the current german chancellor. Good bye german economy with such an uninspiring leadership.
siva7··on The Safari MCP server for web developers
The opposite was considered two years ago a crazy thing to say. I'm glad this changed and people using ai don't have to hide in the closet anymore for doing so.
siva7··on Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5
So fable will jump more often to Opus than it already did on original release? Working with fable felt like having to constantly fight against your work tool. Frustrating. Now they're making it even more frustrating.
