A lot of these are super redundant in my opinion.
If you boil them down I bet a lot of these would be mirrored in one living ones life in general. Some of them can be taught but so much more is earned by grit and experience.
I am not pooping on this site at all ... just remember everything in the modern world is made by a human hand. Frail and limited and built on billions of failed attempts. Life is iterative and unpredictable. It is a journey after all. Cruel and wide, with beauty written large everywhere in plain site.
I really wish the US would focus on an infrastructure bill already. In my opinion that would do more to tackle the root of crime -- inequity than the current push being called for. I feel something like that over time would have a much more positive impact on the lives of more Americans than anything else discussed in recent memory. And it is not so divisive as other big govt ideas.
Why would I pay more taxes just to have them come back to me? No. Just no!
>It also says you can delete this log by deleting the email, but three weeks after we deleted all email, the list is still there.
No. China is not free. I am sorry you are fed up. But I bet millions of victims of Chinese oppression are in much dire condition and wish they could be fed up and not dead or disappeared. Xi Jinping is a dope. The amount of articulation of control China has over the its citizens is chilling. Defending China, Fuck the Chinese govt.
I can say that and face zero repercussions, publically. You cannot say that in China and expect to be ok. I hope the Chinese people rise up one day and figure out a better form of governance for themselves.
... fog lifts from stage
... a huge screen with flashing, strobing lights emerge with diffused 90s font writing ...
Some kinda music roars and the writing on screen is undiffused instantly revealing
“SOLID SATE DRIVE POWERED VIRTUAL RAM”
The way they are selling these I would hope someone would be looking and clicking on that details button and really looking to make sure it is for them.
Does anyone have a good real world average for current wait times for delivery and service? Also wondering what these are for the flyover states (midwest) where I am at vs the coasts.
I know this is pure speculation but does anyone think they may bring it back if they can do it under the screen? Also waiting for them to add mouse support to ipad. I am convinced this will happen in a few years (prolly not tho).
Thanks for letting us know one nerd's take on openzfs.
The only thing standing in zfs way (to 1st tier Linux support) is a company springing up and heading the charge. 75 percent sure this will happen eventually with ZoL at some point in a decade's time.
However, another point of measure is money. Synology is huge and seems to think btrfs is good enough for business. They compete with ixsystems directly. We could go all day and into 2020 with points and counter points. The licensing issue is weak but will eventually be moot with enough money and time behind the right project. I'm not in any position to judge that last point for sure just offering my IT pro/business take on it.
To be fair bsd-ish-ness has a role to play on the backend and is bullet proof and battle tested for the right mission. But the same can be said for Linux too. The last point I'll make is that today, I can run the Linux kernel from my msft windows 10 machine natively. No one here would have saw that in 2000. Does bsd, zfs have a similar anecdotal Hero Epic like this; where the enemy capitulated so thoroughly?
There are a lot of out of touch concerns here in regards to privacy. I think this basically shows the diff between INDependent devs and employEE devs.
At any point in time a company who owns and pays for all IT related accounts and services can look, monitor, export disable, enable, delete, log or secure their systems as they need to either by compliance requirements, legal, policy or for any business or nonbusiness reason at anytime.
At the least you do not have a right to privacy to at the best limited privacy when communicating on a company provided communications platform.
Most companies worth their salt have this written down in their company handbook or manual etc. Most companies also have reasonable "you may use company systems for limited private exchanges"
This is even more true when the company has government or gov facing clients or does business in certain market sectors like Finance.
It is good to see the new kid on the block (Slack) is growing up and getting more focused on its core business clients: companies/b2b.
The same goes for company provided laptops, equipment.
I think it is also super important above all that the vast majority of people and companies enter into these things in good faith and reasonableness. We just do not live in a world where the honor system can be the only safeguard for these things. And of course with all things businessey -- the more money is riding on top of something -- the more important it is to be wise in regards to risk in and out of business matters.
