sinzone··on The Brand Age
software is becoming like the fashion industry. you go to Prada vs Hermess because you think one does better shoes and the other better bags. But is not because neither could do better shoes or bad it isb ecause your mind positioning is set.

Software. everyone can do it now. but you still buy lets say Crowdstrike for security, because is in your brain for years as security software.

The was a way to get AHEAD of time. The bank regulatory [Liquidity Coverage Ratio] should have never been pushed to $250B in Deposits threshold.

It was at $50B for a reason since 2008. But Trump administration lifted to $250B in 2018.

sinzone··on The Airbnbs
I lived for a few weeks in 2009 in the original Airbnb house on Rausch St when Brian and Joe had an extra room. I learned a ton: from extreme community care to perseverance and kindness.

Right there - when Airbnb was about 10 people in total, Brian told me: We'll go IPO. We'll be $100B IPO.

sinzone··on Scaling your API with rate limiters
Another way to add a fast, distributed rate-limiting on top of your APIs is by using an API Gateway [1] like the open-source Kong [2]. This pattern is becoming a standard since it saves time from re-implementing and duplicating the same rate limiting logic in each backend microservice.

sinzone··on Google to acquire Apigee

sinzone··on Y Combinator Companies
Great tool. Would be cool to see where these companies are now. Perhaps adding another columns and filter to get Status info: Acquired/Dead/IPO/Active.
sinzone··on Manage your APIs with Google Cloud Endpoints
IMO NGINX/Openresty is on par with native C++ in terms of performances, but more maintainable long term.
sinzone··on Manage your APIs with Google Cloud Endpoints
There are several open-source admin/dashboards GUI built by the community. Here a few:

sinzone··on The End of Microservices
When this year I came back from Dockercon I immediately wanted to write something very similar to what this article describes. I wanted to imagine a world where Containers and Microservices were part of the past already, and so I wrote "DockerCon 2020" [1] and how it will look like.

sinzone··on Serverless Architectures
imho serverless architecture doesn't mean that your app is without servers 100%. Backend still serverless, but everything on top (like an API gateway, load balancer, service discovery, etc) can have dedicated resources.
sinzone··on Serverless Architectures
If you're looking for an open-source API Gateway (less lock-in) with Lambda Integration then Kong (https://github.com/Mashape/kong) could be a useful complementary tool for your serverless architecture.

worth mentioning that Apiaxle is not an "active" project on GH.
sinzone··on The Open API Initiative
Already happening. Tools (like https://gelato.io) provide auto-generated docs, live test-console, code snippets and SDKs from your Swagger file. It comes with a free plan for OSS projects.
sinzone··on Stripe Atlas
This is huge, I had to fly from Europe myself just to open a bank account (before the 9/11 you could do it online). Stripe Atlas opens a business bank account for you with Silicon Valley Bank, the world’s leading bank for tech companies. There’s no need to visit a bank branch in person to get set up.
sinzone··on Why Espressos in America Are Not Good?
What you think is good coffee...simply it's not.
sinzone··on Why Espressos in America Are Not Good?
Yes, I was actually not counting Starbucks/similar chains at all in my analysis. I consider them more McDonalds rather than a real coffee bar.
