singing_tartly··on How Fairphone built the Fairphone Gen 6+
Easy to see they don't have Android 17 yet on their website so cannot get all security patches. The claimed patch level is about a month late.

Search online and see reports updates slow down cause they're busy. Maybe newer phones get faster updates for a year then slow down to every few months. I found that by googling.

Found a post on the FP forum. FP4 was released with support for 5 years but SoC was only going to be supported for 2 more years so no firmware updates for 3 of them.

idk why you ask GOS these questions. They know their stuff and shouldnt have to do research for people like a LLM. I didn't know and used Google and found enough to believe what they say.

idk but I saw people saying there are problems with it.

I hear it conflicts with GPLv2 and other permissive licensing. GPLv2 doesn't allow restrictions added by GPLv3, the two aren't compatible. iirc it would restrict how users or companies use GOS.

GOS is an open source software project, they know how licenses work in practice better than most of the rest of us.

singing_tartly··on Original GrapheneOS responses to WIRED fact checker
not true at all...

There's no coordinated attacks on anyone or projects by GrapheneOS. They respond to misinformation, that's about it.

There have been many attacks on privacy/security projects, not just GOS, recently. If you keep up with the GOS forum you can see posts saying GOS was hacked without evidence. Other claims that GOS is only used by criminals. Theyre not true. Misinformation that aims to destroy the reputation of the project should be responded to.
