Not only an untrue statement, but also a sadly incurious way to approach someone else's design choice. Yes, it was an enormous amount of work and invention to achieve a desired effect, but the effect is striking in an environment that is otherwise plastered with everyday visual clutter.

Minimalism is difficult and expensive to achieve. Some people consider that effort worthwhile.

I don’t see this sort of review as aggressive or hostile; rather, it displays the sort of inductive reasoning that we should all be doing more of in the face of wondrous claims that follow a recognizable pattern.

Hype artists and bad faith actors thrive on amnesiac audiences, and it’s about time we were all a bit less credulous.

Sadly, one of the last “real” hemispherical IMAX domes that showed feature films in my metro area abruptly closed a few years ago. Dual-laser “IMAX” is the only option within hundreds of miles.
