Is there a reason why Paul Graham's essay titles are images?
sidwyn··on My U.S. Border Nightmare
Pardon me, but why are there so many stories on Upverter / related to them today?
sidwyn··on Add iPhone Settings Shortcuts To Your Home Screen
He's basically using URI shortcuts, check this out: http://www.idownloadblog.com/2011/11/11/how-to-create-custom...

Thanks for the code. Gave it a spin but found the fonts a little too jarring, especially the main font. There needs to be more contrast too. I know you're trying to imitate an actual newspaper, but perhaps play a little more with the hues of gray? Right now it all seems a blur to me.
sidwyn··on Add iPhone Settings Shortcuts To Your Home Screen
Sometimes I tap Settings and I forget what I was looking for while Settings was loading up. When I tap this from the home screen, I know it'll definitely load up what I want.

Visit the site on your iOS device to install.
sidwyn··on Show HN: Tunebox, Dropbox + iPhone = cloud music service
Can I save them for offline playback? My 3G connection can be rather intermittent sometimes.
sidwyn··on Internet giants place full-page anti-SOPA ad in NYT
Besides the gist of the ad, I noticed that Facebook did not use their logo without a background (AOL too).
sidwyn··on An Open Letter to Peldi Guilizzoni of Balsamiq
What a beautiful design on your site Quipol!
sidwyn··on Show HN: An OS X music library I've been working on for the past year.
I like this. It's very fast.

One suggestion, when I hit enter when I select a song, I expect the song to start playing, instead of renaming the track number.

sidwyn··on Do a barrel roll - Google Search
Wow that just flipped my world around.

Where is the import from Linkedin option?
sidwyn··on Introducing the Gmail app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch
Interesting how they decided to copy the sliding panels from Facebook for iPhone. I wonder if it will become a standard on iOS.
sidwyn··on A Celebration of Steve Jobs' Life
Preference is given oddly to Snow Leopard and iOS devices.

sidwyn··on Facebook privacy fuckup reveals who has your number in their phone
Ok I've added my number. Where do I go to see suggested friends?
sidwyn··on Facebook privacy fuckup reveals who has your number in their phone
I can't get the screen he's seeing, all I did was to verify an email and I'm in!
sidwyn··on What I Learned From Launching on HN
Yep, just interested in sharing my observations.
sidwyn··on What I Learned From Launching on HN
Thanks for your advice. My post was more of observation than analysis (like someone else said on this thread)

Also, you were mistaken. I didn't goad nor chide Americans. The Hacker News community is international (I'm proof), and based off visitor stats, there were a lot of them from the U.K. and Canada as well.

sidwyn··on ARM's new Cortex A7 is tailor-made for Android superphones
Same as http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3134327 which was on the front page.
sidwyn··on What I Learned From Launching on HN
Great point as well.
sidwyn··on Steve Jobs has passed away.
The site has changed to a trove of eulogies.
sidwyn··on Google's Icecream Sandwich Event Live
Use the one at http://www.youtube.com/android instead. It's better.
sidwyn··on Ask HN: What programming blogs do you read daily?
Are my eyes playing tricks on me or is the title supposed to read 'What programming blogs do you read daily?' instead of 'What programming blogs your read daily?'

Both have subtle differences that poke at the perfectionist in me.

sidwyn··on The First Step for Ruby on Rails
Yep to both.
sidwyn··on The First Step for Ruby on Rails
I did the step up to "[[ -s $HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm ]] && . $HOME/.rvm/scripts/rvm", and then tried "rvm install ruby-1.9.2-p290" but it said "rvm: command not found". Ideas?
sidwyn··on Show HN: Learn iPhone and iPad development in less than an hour
You will be able to do so in a few days.
sidwyn··on Show HN: Learn iPhone and iPad development in less than an hour
I've found the font a bit too distracting, but the content is definitely good :)
sidwyn··on Show HN: Learn iPhone and iPad development in less than an hour
Yes, I definitely am. Teaching how to code and coding itself are two very different aspects, though they revolve around code itself. Prepping the material forced me (in a good way) to scrutinize my code to ensure 100% accuracy.
