sidibe··on Elon Musk Summoned to France to Face Criminal Charges
St Barts for example.. he'll have to look elsewhere for the wildest parties
sidibe··on Fear and denial in Silicon Valley over social media addiction trial
It's not just the scrolling, the posting side too. They all randomly boost one of your posts so suddenly tons of feedback (especially noticable when I tried threads) and then you try to get that back again. The uncertainty keeps you at it
sidibe··on Google workers seek 'red lines' on military A.I., echoing Anthropic
I remember they successfully got Google out of a military contract in the first admin (and briefly vilified by the right for that). that's not going to work now. Workers have a lot less power and the CEO is buddies with Trump
sidibe··on Musk changes course on Mars quest and shoots for moon – again
This is just the first step eventually we will be just like the Culture novels that Elon skimmed through the Wikipedia summaries of.

We are slightly delayed on the first Mars trips timelines that were supposed to have happened already but the overall timeline of being all over the universe at some point in the future is still perfectly on track.

This is an economic opportunity in the quintillions you would be stupid not to give Elon billions to be a part owner. Keep in mind like in all of his businesses no one else could ever do this, there is 0 competition only what his companies do matter and if you don't believe that GFY

sidibe··on An AI agent published a hit piece on me – more things have happened
They were rightfully been calling out the grift at Tesla. On the SpaceX front they've been his biggest cheerleader (even dismissing other stories like the sexual harrassment)
sidibe··on We mourn our craft
Where do people find this optimism? I reckon when the software jobs fall everything else will follow shortly too. That's just the first target because it's what we know and the manual stuff is a little harder for now. The "good news" is everyone might be in the same boat so the system will have to adapt,
sidibe··on Elon Musk's SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI in talks to merge, according to reports
Nothing will happen. He got off with nothing for directly saying from his own account "Funding secured" on Twitter in a much less nakedly corrupt environment
sidibe··on Tesla discontinues Model X and S vehicles as Elon Musk pivots to robotics
I listened to the call:

The capabilities will be "orders of magnitude" and "end of this year." The timeline is "there is no competition outside of China".

They are more amazing every quarter and so is Tesla's ability to rapidly produce them in the future.

sidibe··on Sins of the Children
I really love this series, probably my favorite of his stuff along with Cage of Souls. I got a little bored with the first one but glad I kept on, the second and third were amazing.

I almost like everything he writes which is something because there's a ton of it and it's all over the place. Only ones I've DNFd are the Shards of Earth which is weird because I normally like space opera.

sidibe··on Apple picks Gemini to power Siri
And where does Apples cloud run?
sidibe··on Statement from Jerome Powell
Trump thinks lowering the interest rates means market goes up before election. That's all there is to it everyone knows it's not about stability and jobs
sidibe··on Cloudflare CEO on the Italy fines
Overall he is very unpopular. There are a few far right parties that love him but they are outnumbered.
sidibe··on Cloudflare CEO on the Italy fines
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but they are, in fact, extremely unpopular in EU
sidibe··on Trump Invoking 'Insurrection Act' Speculation Grows After ICE Shooting
There's some GOP legislators it probably makes quietly uncomfortable to see ICE blatantly murdering people on their watch, they could sleep easier with Insurrection Act
sidibe··on Minneapolis Mayor Blasts Kristi Noem's BS ICE Shoots Kills Woman in Minnesota
The poor hero is recovering at the hospital right now after being run over according to the president. He may or may not get off by the courts, but he will be feted by MAGA. If he's removed from ICE it'll be to go on a media tour.
sidibe··on Sam Altman to Elon Musk on Recruiting from Tesla
The last couple tech bubbles have made extremely dumb people able to have positions of power they would never have been able to have before the random VC/crypto windfalls to asocial people

Used to be where you could assume CEOs were at least probably intelligent if not moral. Now half of these big tech companies are run by extremely self confident clowns.

sidibe··on [dead]
He's not hiding it he has talked more about the oil since than Maduros illegitimacy
sidibe··on Tesla sales fell by 9 percent in 2025, its second yearly decline
This has been true until recently w/BYD growth. It's definitely more than the top legacy ones combined, including those selling many times more cars, and unlike most of them it's shrinking
sidibe··on Grok is enabling mass sexual harassment on Twitter
Sorry I had to flag this because it is negative about my infallible idol's company
sidibe··on Tesla sales fall for the second year in a row
No problem, Tesla is robot company now.
sidibe··on Tesla’s 4680 battery supply chain collapses as partner writes down deal by 99%
I think that's probably the main reason but also Fred Lambert "earned" a free roadster through referrals gassing up Elon and Tesla and as always with Elons promises it has not materialized.
sidibe··on Tesla’s 4680 battery supply chain collapses as partner writes down deal by 99%
I think somehow the goofiness and untrustworthiness of the pumpers is a way to select their audience, just like how spammers intentionally misspell to not waste their time on people with discernment
sidibe··on As AI gobbles up chips, prices for devices may rise
None of the previous tech had the potential to do every economically productive thing we can do. It will spawn more opportunities, but maybe it will also fill those opportunities.
sidibe··on Elon Musk's SpaceX bought tens of millions worth of Cybertrucks Tesla can't sell
From what I've seen, immigrants
sidibe··on Opus 4.5 is the first model that makes me fear for my job
100% in the doomers camp now, wish I could be as optimistic as these people who think AI is all hype but the last few weeks it's starting to finally be more productive to use these tools and I feel like this will be a short little window where the stuff I'm typing in and the review of whats coming out is still worth my salary.

I don't really see why anywhere near the number of great jobs this industry has had will be justifiable in a year. The only comfort is all the other industries will be facing the same issue so accomodations will have to be made.

sidibe··on The RAM shortage comes for us all
A lot of ram and disk companies have played this game before and gotten burned so they are more conservative than you'd expect. The problem in the past is shortages cause the customers to invest in efficiency or new tech pops up, it's really hard to predict whether to jump in because of the time it takes to get production going

if it gets really bad though the superscalers will guarantee them enough business years out to make the investment worth it

sidibe··on OpenAI declares 'code red' as Google catches up in AI race
Google fragmented into multiple competing companies as well, that's where OpenAI itself came from. The problem is even after shedding employees into all these startups or established competitors trying to catch up, Google has way more people, money, and compute to throw at things and see what works than the rest of the industry. It's demoralizing and tempting for people to go back, which is also demoralizing
sidibe··on Michael Burry slams Tesla valuation, warns of 'ridiculous' dilution
I think a lot of disk/compute has legitimately lasted longer than they initially thought it would. The initial estimates are too conservative
sidibe··on A new AI winter is coming?
I have pretty negative feelings about all this stuff and how the future will be but also have to admit it's crazy how good it is at so many things I would have considered safe a few years ago before chatgpt.

There are a couple really disingenuous bloggers out there who have big audiences themselves and are "experts" for others audiences who really push hard this narrative that AI is a joke and will never progress by where it is today, it is actually completely useless and just a scam. This is comforting for those of us that worry more than are excited about AI so some eat it up while barely trying it for themselves

sidibe··on Google Starts Sharing All Your Text Messages with Your Employer
I'm surprised this wasn't already the case for work phones?
