(Other cofounder of Fluxon)
What's the legal structure like? If you have a corporation already and Cofounder1 owns shares - it's trickier to do something about it. If not, just start a company with Cofounder2.
Worked for us.
Great to see you guys pivot and move on to something new.
I'm obviously biased here (we've done the same) but pivoting is good for most early stage companies that haven't taken off in a big way (fundraising != taking off). IMO more companies would have good outcomes if Founders were more flexible and actually focused on building a good business as opposed to banging their heads against the wall on something that's clearly not working.
Wish you guys the best of luck with Supaglue!
We'll keep checking in here to answer questions for the rest of the day. Excited to hear what you think!
If you have any feedback or advice btw, pls email me at shri@metlo.com! I'd really appreciate it! :)
- Eng writes Hack/Python code on backend with a view tag-ish
- Client has native components for NT and Blocks. The native component references tag-ish from above and pulls code / config
- The code / config returned from the backend gets translated into Litho/ComponentKit components (so native Android UI elements) and rendered
We're (eventually = 2-3 wks) likely going to price on usage so we should def chat! :)
Re: diff between us and Cloudfilt -- Cloudfilt seems like a primarily bot-protection tool while we help find all your endpoints, rank them by risk, classify the sensitive info they expose, test against OpenAPI specs (or generate them based on your traffic), find and protect against anomalous requests, etc…
Edit: And thanks for the star! :)
I'm sure Metlo's a little rough around the edges (being nice to ourselves, "little") so pls send us all your feedback in our discord community / at [shri,akshay]@metlo.com! :)
And if we can help with anything, I'm at shri@metlo.com :)
NT - Native Templates. It's a cross-platform app dev framework where you can write Hack on the server once to make surfaces for both iOS and Android.
Blocks is similar to NT but in Python (IG backend is all Python)
Agree with everything here except (maybe I'm contrarian) the 'unique insight that you bring as the founder' part. I'm fairly convinced that unique insight is just a VC pitch thing. In reality, the market is too efficient for your 'unique insight' to really benefit you all that much beyond your Seed or Series A pitch. There will almost certainly be plenty of competitors ripping you off and at least one or two funded by other top-tier VCs. If the only thing you have different is your 'authentic unique insight', you're going to lose anyway.
This is too true and something I didn't internalize fully until maybe 6 months into my startup. If you have PMF, people can help you with everything else. If you don't, no one can really do anything for you.
@ashekhawat and I will be hanging out here for the next few hours to answer any questions you have! :)
