Are you saying GUI IDEs are best? Or is there an ideal kind of interface we haven't yet seen?

Look into Elixir, specifically Nerves, first. https://nerves-project.org/

Whoa. This is a fascinating connection I've never heard of before! Thank you for sharing. Where can I learn more about this?

So glad to see someone is doing this so I don't have to!
shotgun··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (July 2016)
United States Digital Service | Washington, D.C. | ONSITE | $108,887-$160,300

We're looking for the most tenacious designers, UX experts, software engineers, product managers, and others who are committed to untangling, rewiring and redesigning critical government services.

You'll join a team of the most talented technologists from across the private sector and government. Most people sign on for one year, but there are opportunities for shorter or longer engagements–tours of duty.

It's totally rad, you guys.

My interview process involved several phone interviews conducted by digital service experts stationed at various agencies and the White House.

shotgun··on I Dreamed of a Perfect Database
Datomic much? :)
shotgun··on Ask HN: CTM gave CS the “kernel language”. Is there a “kernel database”?
Although tangential to your question, I feel you might enjoy presentations by Rich Hickey wherein he describes traditional database architectures and presents the whys and wherefores behind Datomic. For example:

shotgun··on Riak CS is Now Open Source
This is excellent news. Questions though...does Riak CS need its own dedicated Riak cluster or can you use "its" Riak nodes directly in the usual Riak fashion? If so, is it possible to access the CS-created chunks directly? (Not saying that is a good idea...just trying to understand how Riak and Riak CS fit together.)
shotgun··on Bandwidth needs halved by new compression written in Go
I see that the article is tagged "open source." Is CloudFront going to open source Railgun? Publish any papers?

This isn't an announcement about companies supporting Railgun...it's about companies supporting CloudFlare by installing the Railgun Listener.

shotgun··on RubyMotion Tutorial: Write iOS Apps in Ruby
Rhodes doesn't create 100% native apps. Your compiled app has a web server embedded in it.

Yeah. Sold to FB I believe.
shotgun··on Google Raised Android Market App Size Limit From 50MB to a Whooping 4GB
That's exactly what they're doing, only the emphasis is more on Google TV related offerings. Also consider their Google Fiber subsidiary's 1000-acre antenna farm in Iowa and you start seeing the future of TV channels...or should I say TV apps?
shotgun··on Docracy - Free (community curated) Legal Documents
Yay! It's about time someone did this.

shotgun··on Fulcrum - Open Source Agile Project Management Tool

shotgun··on Google ChromeBook Review: ChromeBomb?
I received mine on the 8th and I love it. While it is true that the file manager is missing a lot of functionality I think the real problem that Chrome OS brings to the fore is the severe lack of good Chrome apps.

Also, I had no problem getting past the fourth step in the trackpad training tab, unlike the OP who was probably experiencing a PEBKAC exception.
