"I've tried all the options I have here in the country that banned the major players and I don't think any are better."

"Both not part of Israel" and yet the people who allegedly own it don't control it.

This "only democracy in the region" line gets trotted out, but most Palestinians don't get a vote in the government that controls their lives. So "democracy" in the sense that Apartheid South Africa was a democracy, only.

Go read the Grokipedia article about the Gaza genocide if you want a laugh. The first sentence is 83 words with multiple nested clauses. It's gibberish.

It's far from fair given that if _I_ breach copyright and get caught, I go to jail, not just pay a fine.

I've actually been a test subject for sunscreen here in Australia. It involved having sunscreen put on different parts of your body, hopping into a Jacuzzi for an hour or so, then being zapped with UV on both sunscreened and clear skin.

Easiest hundred bucks I ever made, gotta say.

Great. One of the worst things on the modern internet is more resilient than the actually useful things.

This from the team that brought a tool to recover files corrupted by Office, rather than fix the causes of file corruption. Then it becomes a "feature" you can trumpet, rather than a bug you squashed.

Last time I did this through LAX (flying onwards to Toronto) it was pretty minimal. You pick up your bag, go through immigration, then on the way out of there drop your bag off with an airline agent and on it goes to your destination.

Looks like a pretty good system though!

The inevitable "find out" phase that always follows the "fuck around" phase.

Drove a rented Kia in Central Australia recently that had this. It was fine: just stick below the speed limit. "Dangerous" to someone who continuously rides the speed limit perhaps.

The hire bikes are great but if you don't have a North American phone number you can't sign up in their app! (I relied on a friendly stranger who offered her phone number for the confirmation code.)

Great city to ride around! Surprisingly good facilities.

The question I ask straight back at you: how long do you think an oven should last?

> I'd say Jobs would have blown them away.

If nothing else, the stench would have blown them away. He didn't bathe for _years_.

And here I was reading that headline and thinking it'd allow me to be notified when creepy adtech is stalking me. Of course not.

Cops ask, cops get. Same as America.
