Have you checked out GrowSumo.com? They were YC S15. Luke and Bryn are awesome guys. They got us connected with a handful of influencers that promoted my first startup – www.goodaudience.com. Then their software tracked monthly commissions and payouts.
sherm8n··on Ask HN: When bootstrapping a startup, what are some ways to keep the lights on?
Hmm, is there a reason for NOT offering a guarantee?
sherm8n··on Ask HN: When bootstrapping a startup, what are some ways to keep the lights on?
Great insights. Why do some businesses have a free tier then? Does that only make sense if you're venture backed?

sherm8n··on Ask HN: How do you deal with the down periods of running a startup
Lean hard on your co-founders. You're in an incredibly difficult journey together. I think they should be happy to pick you right back up. Is there anything specific I can help with?

Ignore the competition and understand the problems your customers have deeper than anyone else. There's likely a problem other platforms can't solve :)
sherm8n··on Don’t Get a Job, Don’t Goto GradSchool and Don’t Start a Startup: The 4th Option
It's up to you and the company to work together to create a compensation packages that matches your risk profile, the value you think you can create in the company, and your end goal. Then obviously, you can get re-upped throughout your time at the company.
sherm8n··on Don’t Get a Job, Don’t Goto GradSchool and Don’t Start a Startup: The 4th Option
It technically is a job :) But people who usually work at a startup believe in the mission and don't feel like it's a 9-5 job. Otherwise, you wouldn't go work there for peanuts.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
We sell a social media product with a market opportunity in the billions. Number of followers is just one metric. These are people that choose to follow you out of their own free will.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
We were set up for SEIS/EIS and had an accountant review every thing. They then drafted the advance assurance to send over to HMRC. Definitely worth it to get this done before you start fundraising.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
It does and I learned that the hard way. The legal process was the delay and I should have pushed it along faster.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
You clearly get it.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
This is something on our radar. How do we provide a managed customer service solution? I would run customer service for Deutsche Bahn myself. I'd want to see how well I can match their brand/voice and then write code where possible.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
Delaware C-corp
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
I appreciate the feedback here. I agree that there are tons of services that will help you increase with dodgy followers. However, that's a different market.
sherm8n··on Raising Money in London Almost Killed Our Startup
In hindsight, that was easy to see. We went where the money was. Had we closed, it would have been worth it!
