I tried the german version of it and pasted a SAP article, which got a score of 1.34. They mostly talk bullshit, but the article wasn't bad to understand imho, so I think the algorithm needs some work.
The text was:
"Möchten Sie SAP-Software vor Ort installieren oder über die Cloud darauf zugreifen? Wir bieten in jedem Fall umfassende Services, zugeschnitten auf Ihre individuellen Anforderungen. Wir verfügen über eines der größten Expertenteams weltweit. Unsere qualifizierten Mitarbeiter beraten Sie gern bei der Konzeptionierung, Implementierung und Optimierung Ihrer Systemlandschaft. I haven't said that it's ok, i just said it would be the better choice to use a nickname, because this would help you to protect against a lawsuit if they try to sue him for any reason. His best option would be to ask the producer if he is fine, when the guy release his open source version of doodle jump. I think they would agree, because he doesn't earn money and doesn't seems to do anything else with it. Also it's a good ad for the product doodle jump and he also recommend to buy a copy of it.
Congratulations, I couldn't tell the difference to the original version of doodle jump. I read here that a lot of people are worried, because you recreated a game which is protected by copyright, but I wouldn't worry too much, because you don't earn money with the game and did it for fun. But still, it would be the better choice if you had released it under a nickname instead of your real name.
Well, he could make it open source and still earn money with it. I haven't always an internet connection, so this would be a huge advantage.(plan to travel in the next time)
serious question: Are these drug cartels really more dangerous than our governments and lobbies and the financial mafia? If you would try to sell oil and the other big players would make less money then you would probably have an accident.
I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to switch the algo behind HN.It worked well for several years, but the spectrum of users changed. I'm not against a new solution, but you will run into this issues again and again, because it are social problems, not technical ones. Just my 2 cents.
So, the only way to get some bitcoins for a single person would be hacking sites like bitcoinica or users? Also, is there a live statistic, which shows how much bitcoins exists right now?
Good to hear this. I had several issues with Virtual Box in the past on OS X(Lion, Mountain Lion) and it even produced 3-4 times a kernel crash on my MacBook. I switched to VMWare Fusion then and all the complains were gone.
Anyone of you got more bitcoins then me?(0) ;) I tried to get a single bitcoin for multiple times, but it never worked out ;) I guess my hardware is too bad.
Oh, that's bad. I thought it's may an option for you, because you have already been there for a while. The rules for getting a visa in NZ are really strict then. What are the major differences between Australia and New Zealand from your viewpoint? I heard that Australia is more US-like and NZ more Europe oriented, but thats it. It would be cool if you could share some experiences :) Thanks
Ah cool, I want to work there for a while and will apply for a work visa. Maybe I'll stay there. If I won't get a work visa then I'll go to another country :)
What are the advantages of using this system over a normal passport? It seems like just another country trying to get a good reputation as a surveillance state :(
Agreed. They made a mistake and they should fix it, but firing people just for doing a single mistake isn't the right the way to go. Ben has treaten Steve and Tim bad with this response. Ben should have talked first to Steve and told him that he should have a 1:1 talk with Tim about the problemm, so they could figure out why Tim hadn't done any 1:1 talks with the team. Maybe he has a good reason and you could figure out a good solution to avoid this in the future.
The USA seems to get a third world country. The step between poor and rich is huge, there is no health insurance, people can buy weapons and kill each other, the political system is broken and corruption is everywhwere.
I think the internet is more boring than any outside activity. Sure, it's an easy and comfortable way to get information and communicate with each other, but I see it mostly as a tool. I think the internet gets overused by the most people. A lot of people, even here at work, are online on Facebook, because they don't want to miss anything. But what would you miss if you doesn't read thats a boring day for someone, someone liked your newest image upload or something else? I don't understand this weird behaviour, but maybe it's just me doing sth. wrong.
I think it's a bad practice to outsource data like comments in general. I prefer keeping controll over the comments. This way the commenters don't get monitored/analyzed by Facebook or another US company, which is important, especially as a European. Maybe Facebook don't like what the commenter wrote on your site and just censor the comment and you won't even realize it. Comments should stay on decentral places, which is important to avoid attacks against the freedom of speech.
Has anyone tried to exchange EUR/USD/.. to bitcoins or bitcoins to EUR/USD/.. ? I haven't any bitcoins, so I can't test it, but I want to know how well it works in practice.
Interesting, thanks for bringing this up. Does amazon.com charge extra money for the delivery to Malaysia or do they ship for free, because they doesn't serve Malaysia(yet)?
