I used it to create a fantasy console running in the browser (https://github.com/shazz/ZigMachine) which is more constrained due to the webassembly limitations but I would definitely use it for native dev.
That’s maybe something to add, a close integration with FastApi (mine is a little hacky), some way to improve the BackgroundTask, task status monitoring, watchdog for tasks which refuse to die / cpu / memory overuse,..
I’m using it for some weeks now (to replace another I forgot not compatible with latest pydantic) and I’m pretty satisfied! Simple but efficient, personally I don’t need more features but I expect it to work well and safely to do not impact fastapi which is running along.
Until now I’m using the free version (time limited for AI voice models) of https://www.naturalreaders.com/ website, but I will probably code my own converter soon as this is pretty straight forward to do now. But pretty sure it will be standard on most of good content websites (medium,…) soon, at least for inclusivity.
I must admit since TTS really improved, like you, I started to convert and listen to good / long blog articles and I like it! Especially when on a ride or at work.
What a great idea! Just of curiosity, how much does it cost per month with voip.ms? Looks like a bunch of little costs per month but I could not figure out the total…
