Can someone explain to me why this project requires a DRM? From my understanding the DRM is used to block people from taking the content itself, but if this has public/private/offline abilities what is the point of a DRM? it is supposed to be between peers.

this is exactly the company/boss i would not want to work for. It is exactly the opposite. You should not care if the person if familiar with the tech you use. Who cares if you do php or c#? Does it REALLY make any difference when it comes to taking the business logic and adapting it into MVC/API?

You can break up the monolith, use a message broker or even let the services communicate via http but you do not need K8s. Its pointless unless you want to orchestrate multiple vms/images and your infra scales to that of more than 10-15 servers/containers etc.

No you dont need docker. My recent .net core project had 3 projects (FE - API - Dashboard). Each one was deployed with CI to their respective server but deployment, qa etc was done all outside of a docker env because there was nothing the env can alter. We knew we develop in windows 10 and deploy/qa in ubuntu xenial. the CI was configured around that and then send the dlls to the server and restart apache after deployment.

The only thing that I can see for the need of docker is if you want to include your database inside also, but we opted-in for an on cloud db (azure) and each service had its own.

Once again we go to the discussion in which the problem is not the technique (microservices) but the over-engineering of such solutions.

i think your final point is the most crucial. If you know someone it is just easier. I recently sent a few job applications, but for one company I went through a contact. honestly, I am 26 and I just cracked it (I think). So I had a few relationships but they were mostly out of luck/randomness.

Then I realized, I care too much.. I care if I will "invade" their space, if they feel comfortable, if they will think I am a creep or so.

Nowadays, if I want to talk to someone, I just do. It works wonder, I think we create this "cage" of social fear on our own due to our insecurities.
